Background
NOAA's National Geodetic Survey (NGS) provides the framework for all positioning activities in the Nation. The foundational elements of latitude, longitude, elevation, and shoreline information impact a wide range of important activities. NGS has the responsibility of surveying and/or reviewing the surveys of thousands of U.S. airports for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) through the NGS Aeronautical Survey Program (ASP).
Will work with NGS and FAA to understand their strategic goals and the relationships between the organizations to include regulations, specifications, and standards related to aeronautical surveys. Job duties include:
Education
Bachelors of Science degree in Mathematics, Geodesy, GIS, related discipline, or equivalent.
Location
Work will be performed remotely and in-office to collaborate with colleagues. Approximately 50% telework permitted. Candidates should be within reasonable commuting distance to Silver Spring, MD.
Compensation
The salary range for this role is $50,000 - $125,000/year. This range is a good faith estimate based on similar roles across the organization. ERT uses several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the position's scope and expected duties, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
