Job Description

The Aeroderivative Engineering Program Engineer will support the Gas Power Engineering organization in driving the success of the Aeroderivative Engineering team through coordination and execution of NPI programs. This role works with multiple stakeholders to align priorities, support resource planning, and help manage program risks effectively. The position provides an excellent opportunity to build experience in engineering program execution, cross-functional collaboration, and business operations within a complex engineering environment.

In this role, the Engineer communicates business goals, programs, and processes for the assigned area, provides support and direction to the work group to help meet assigned objectives, and executes own responsibilities with limited guidance. This role has the ability to influence short-term business goals through strong program coordination, disciplined execution, and effective stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities:

- Support NPI program execution, including coordination across Finance, Operations, Product Management, Global Supply Chain, and Engineering teams in Gas Power, Aero Alliance JV, and GE Aerospace.

- Help develop and maintain program plans, including timelines, milestones, deliverables, and interdependencies, ensuring alignment with business priorities.

- Support creation and maintenance of overall program schedules, including project timelines, critical milestones, and execution plans.

- Coordinate with multiple stakeholders to help adjust schedules, support resource allocation, and drive timely execution of project deliverables.

- Serve as a supporting engineering focal for business rhythms related to NPI initiatives, including Operations Planning, S2, JV/Aerospace program management, Year-end Estimates, and EAC activities.

- Assist with tracking financial performance against budget, identifying variances, risks, and opportunities for cost optimization.

- Identify risks and issues that may impact program performance or timelines and support development of mitigation strategies.

- Provide regular program updates to leadership and key stakeholders, including budget updates, schedule progress, risk assessments, and resource utilization.

- Prepare reports and presentations for stakeholders summarizing program status, challenges, and recommendations for improvement.

- Support continuous improvement of aeroderivative engineering program management processes and operating rhythms to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

- Execute assigned analysis, design, test, integration, or program support activities with limited guidance from lead, staff, or senior engineering resources, ensuring alignment with business standards and program requirements.

- Assure proper documentation of technical and program data generated for assigned projects and tasks, consistent with engineering policies and procedures.

- Participate on teams assigned to address specific organizational initiatives.

- Participate as a presenter in technical and program reviews.

- Apply standard practices for budgeting, scheduling, documentation, and program management.

Required Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university or college in Engineering, Project Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

- Minimum 2 years of experience in an engineering, engineering development program, project coordination, or program support role.

- Basic understanding of Aeroderivative Engineering business planning, program execution, and cross-functional operations.

- Demonstrated ability to execute assigned objectives with limited guidance and contribute to achievement of short-term business goals.

- Experience supporting program execution activities such as planning, scheduling, tracking deliverables, and coordinating across multiple stakeholders.

- Ability to document technical or program data in accordance with established engineering policies and procedures.

- Strong written and oral communication skills.

- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams and build strong working relationships.

Preferred Qualifications:

- Demonstrated ability to support planning, execution, and documentation of programs, projects, or initiatives within a multi-functional environment.

- Experience supporting budget tracking, forecasting, or financial reporting.

- Understanding of project scheduling concepts and financial management fundamentals.

- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across functions and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to summarize data clearly for different audiences.

- High level of organization, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the ability to navigate complex projects and changing priorities.

- Experience with operational tools such as Tableau, Excel, PowerPoint, Smartsheet, or MS Access.

- Ability to work under pressure and adjust to changing program needs and priorities.

- Experience presenting in technical and program reviews.
