Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Gas Turbine Engineer to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading and executing field investigations LM2500, LM6000, and LMS100 gas turbines and packages. The GE Vernova Aero PSE team partners with GE Global Services to provide world class technology solutions to customers throughout the product life cycle for Aeroderivative Gas Turbine. Primary focus for the candidate will be to conduct field investigations and root cause analysis, provide technical support for field service engineers as well with resolving customer specific cases for engine/package components for the fleet consist of TM/LM2500, LM6000, LMS100. There is also possibility to support customer or field service during daily issues related to engines which are in operation or under installation and commissioning. The role also requires good cooperation with local MPE laboratory, global Field Service, Product Line Leaders, regional Product Services Engineering as well as CSA and Transactional Commercial Teams.

In this role, you will have opportunities to work on various gas turbine aeroderivative models (LM2500, LM6000, LMS100) and modules, including low- & high-pressure compressors, low- & high-pressure turbines, combustors, rotors, structures, and various airfoils. You will use your expertise to implement AI technologies into daily work, work with big data, implement new technologies into investigations, solve existing component repair challenges, eliminate repair backlog, and support business objectives by aiding in developing and executing component repair strategies.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Perform Field Investigations for Aeroderivative gas turbines and package components including:
  • Technical Meetings with the project team,
  • Analysis and interpretation of site findings, engine operations data, laboratory reports,
  • Prepare depot work scope (list of inspection which should be performed during engine repair to better understand root cause).
  • Prepare laboratory work scope (list of analysis which we want from lab)
  • When all data available and root cause established, prepare final report for customer.
  • Coordinate with Product Line /Laboratories/ Systems Engineering/ Hardware Owners on field issue communications
  • Provide Mechanical/Electrical support for technical inquiries on power generation equipment within the Aero Gas Turbines Product Service process
  • Provide engineering support to Contractual Service business during outage planning and execution
  • Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments
  • Leverage expertise to resolve current issues
  • Lead technical reviews and participate as a presenter in technical & commercial reviews
  • Implement AI into our daily routine
  • Work with big data and new technologies implementation to streamline our processes

Required Qualifications

  • MSc in Engineering or relevant field
  • Experience with Jet/Aeroderivative Gas Turbine and packages
  • Functional knowledge of Gas turbine operation
  • Demonstrated ability to represent GE in customer communications.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a global team/cross-functional team.
  • Candidate must be thorough, accurate, and be able to communicate effectively both to technical and non-technical audiences

Desired Characteristics

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or another relevant field
  • 3 years of mechanical/design/manufacturing engineering experience
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze and resolve problems
  • Ability to guide, influence and lead others
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Fluent English written & verbal skills essential
  • Proficient in use of computers and PC hardware, MS Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook & Word
  • Basis of AI Methods and AI thinking ability

Work Environment:

  • The role involves significant interaction with global teams and may require travel up to 10% to customer sites and internally.
