Job Description

Within the L5 Component Repair Insourcing Program, the Senior Repair Engineer – L5 Component Repair will be responsible for high complex repair commodities for AAJV Global Shops Network.

Senior Repair Engineer shall:

• master technical knowledge of one or more repair commodities / special processes
• collaboratively work with other AAJV Engineering functions implementing new repairs as per AAJV Global Shop Network L5 insource plan
• be responsible of execution of existing and new repairs processes within his/her repair commodities when qualified within the AAJV Global Shop Network

The Senior Repair Engineer will solid line report to the Repair Engineering Manager.

Essential Responsibilities

For all his/her repair commodities, Senior Repair Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Introduction of new repair commodities /special processes in AAJV Global Shops Network
  • Development of work instruction, standard repair routers, inspection forms for new and already existing L5 repairs, including documents update and QMS maintenance
  • Support PMO defining lists of fixtures and tooling needed, issue special tools purchasing specs if needed and manage all procurement steps (POR/offer tech alignment/order execution)
  • Support roll-out and industrialization of new L5 repair technologies and related equipments at AAJV Global Shops, coordinating with Process Engineers, PMO and Shop Operations
  • As part of AAJV Service Shop Technical team, he/she will be the technical owner of the component repair in production, including technical evaluation of inspection results, definition of the repair scope of work, job routers tailoring, Departure Record emission and related job routers modifictions
  • Working with Shop Operations and Process Engineers to define repair processes CTQs, CTQs business intelligence and operating rhythm for CTQs analysis and recovery plan if needed
  • Identify data-driven opportunities for repair productivity / cost reduction and propose alternative processes development to AAJV Repair Product Leadership
  • Support shop NCR process
  • Train and mentor young and new hired repair engineers, supporting technical career paths and technical growth
  • Develop with Repair Engineer Manager technical training and knowledge transfer programs.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Mechanical/Aeronautical Engineering, other degrees or educational levels may be evaluated in case of extensive and well proven track records in the industry.
  • At least 15 years of experience in aero engines overhaul business working in engineering and/or special processes industrialization.
  • Knowledge/experience on GE Aerospace engines (LM2500, LM6000, LM9000, CF6-6, CF6-80, GE90-115B).
  • Strong attitude to work with local and remote teams, interact with people from different locations and cultures and execute complex projects in stretched timing.
  • Ability to work in a very dynamic and mutating environment.
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to synthesize and report out complex technical information
  • Ability to interact with all levels of the organization
  • Be a solution-oriented problem solver
  • Fluency in English in writing and speaking, Italian will be a plus
  • Full availability to travel world-wide with short notice for business purposes
