Job Description

Primary Responsibilities of the Front End Web Developer:

AEM Website Development & Content Authoring:

• Develop and maintain responsive websites and webpages utilizing Adobe Experience Manager (AEM).
• Perform content authoring using existing library of custom AEM components.
• Translate approved designs and functional requirements into responsive, production-ready web experiences.
• Use strong HTML and CSS skills to accurately implement layouts and customize the presentation and styling of existing AEM components.
• Make updates and enhancements to existing websites as well as support net-new website initiatives.
• Work within established AEM templates, components, toolkits, standards, and development processes.
• Troubleshoot front-end presentation and layout issues within the limitations of existing components.
• Collaborate with more programmers when designs or technical requirements require additional development guidance.
• Ensure digital experiences function appropriately across supported browsers, devices, and screen sizes.

Front End Development:

• Develop front-end digital experiences using HTML, HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, and jQuery.
• Demonstrate advanced CSS capabilities, particularly for responsive layouts and styling within a component-based CMS environment.
• Convert designs created in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and similar design applications into functional digital assets.
• Review and understand existing JavaScript code and make minor modifications when necessary.
• Utilize existing JavaScript templates and functionality rather than developing extensive JavaScript applications from scratch.
• Develop interactive elements, navigation, animations, and other front-end functionality as appropriate.
• Apply responsive web development principles and established coding standards.
• Troubleshoot front-end issues and identify practical solutions within existing technical frameworks.

HTML5 Banner Development:

• Develop and modify responsive and animated HTML5 banner advertisements.
• Utilize Google Web Designer for banner development.
• Work with existing banner assets as well as create new banners from approved creative designs.
• Support animation and interactive functionality as required.
• Experience with GreenSock/GSAP animation is beneficial.
• Familiarity with DoubleClick/Google advertising workflows is beneficial.

Email Development:

• Support HTML-based email projects as business needs arise.
• Make minor HTML adjustments to emails produced through existing WYSIWYG-based platforms.
• Troubleshoot presentation issues such as image alignment, formatting, and other HTML rendering problems.
• Support occasional custom HTML emails, including assets designed primarily for Outlook.
• Incorporate required scripts or templates necessary for internal submission and review processes.
• Capture appropriate screenshots and associated documentation for review and approval.

Veeva CRM / Interactive Sales Aids:

• Support digital assets used within Veeva CRM, including interactive sales aids and related promotional materials.
• Work with existing templates and codebases to make front-end updates.
• Make minor JavaScript and jQuery modifications when necessary.
• Support interactive sales materials through established team processes and technology frameworks.

Project Documentation, Quality, & Compliance:

• Create and maintain thorough, accurate project documentation.
• Work from existing functional requirements documents and make required updates throughout the development lifecycle.
• Capture screenshots and other supporting materials needed for medical, regulatory, IT, and internal submissions.
• Follow established documentation and submission standards.
• Perform careful self-review of completed development work before advancing projects to proofing, QA, or client review.
• Ensure programmed content accurately reflects supplied copy, creative assets, and functional specifications.
• Identify inconsistencies between designs, requirements, copy, and programmed outputs.
• Maintain a high degree of accuracy when working with detailed, scientific, and pharmaceutical-related content.
• Help minimize unnecessary revision cycles by delivering clean and accurate work during the initial development pass.

Collaboration & Project Management:

• Partner closely with designers, creative managers, copy teams, project stakeholders, and other web programmers.
• Work collaboratively within a full-service internal advertising agency environment.
• Manage multiple concurrent assignments and shifting priorities in a high-volume, fast-paced environment.
• Follow established department workflows, processes, technical standards, and review procedures.
• Communicate clearly and concisely with both technical and nontechnical team members.
• Accept feedback from proofing, quality, creative, and project teams and implement revisions accurately.
• Escalate technical challenges appropriately and collaborate with developers when additional support is required.
• Learn new platforms, systems, processes, and development standards quickly.
• Stay current on front-end technologies and identify opportunities to improve development approaches.
• Experience with Adobe Experience Manger (AEM) - direct content authoring/front-end experience is strong preferred
• Strong attention to detail and documentation skills - ability to implement detailed content and minimize errors that create additional proofing cycles

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Mettawa, IL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $39.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
