Job Description

Overview

A private Mother in Lake Oswego, Oregon is looking for an experienced, caring, and proactive ROTA Nanny to care for her 4-year-old son. The position follows a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off schedule, with the Nanny staying in the family's private pool house while on rotation. Her son is currently in his second year of preschool and attends school Monday through Friday from 8a-3p. As he has gotten older and started school, the role has shifted to focus more on afternoon and evening care, meal preparation for him, planning activities, and helping maintain a consistent daily routine. She is looking for someone who has experience working with children who struggle with emotional regulation and can bring a patient, calm, and understanding approach to their care. Finding someone who can provide consistency, structure, and a positive environment while building a strong, long-term relationship with her son is very important to the mom.

Schedule:

  • Full-time ROTA position with a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off rotation (Sundays are usually spent with the grandparents and the child sleeps over. This is usually the Nanny's day to herself but must understand if something comes up she still is "on call")
  • 24/7 on-call availability while on rotation
  • Private pool house accommodations provided while on rotation
  • Occasional domestic and international travel with the family, primarily during school breaks, including spring break, summer, and fall breaks.
  • ASAP start

Responsibilities

  • Provide attentive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate care for the family's 4-year-old son
  • Support emotional regulation through patience, consistency, and a calm, understanding approach
  • Maintain a good daily routine and provide a supportive environment as the child continues to grow and develop
  • Coordinate school pick-up and afternoon activities, including taking the child directly to his Taekwondo classes
  • Plan and prepare engaging activities, outings, and playdates for some weekends
  • Prepare meals and snacks for the child, including evening meal preparation
  • Help keep the child's bedroom, play areas, and belongings clean and organized while he is at school
  • Participate in family dinners and evening routines with mom
  • Assist with evening cleanup, playtime, and getting the child ready for bed. Mom typically handles bedtime.
  • Coordinate with the mom and the child's existing support team, including his occupational and behavioral therapists, to maintain consistency in his care

Qualifications

  • Ability to travel with the family as needed
  • Comfortable working with other household staff
  • Previous ROTA experience is strongly preferred
  • Experience supporting children who experience emotional dysregulation, big feelings, or challenges with transitions is a plus

Requirements

  • Family has a cat - must be comfortable working in that environment
  • Willingness to sign NDA upon potential trial dates
  • Knowledge of age-appropriate emotional development and positive behavioral support strategies
  • Calm, patient, nurturing, and emotionally grounded
  • Confident setting boundaries while remaining warm and understanding
  • Proactive, organized, and comfortable taking initiative
  • Able to create engaging activities and structure throughout the day
  • Flexible and adaptable, particularly during travel and changes in routine
  • Looking for a long-term position and able to provide consistency and stability for the child
  • Comfortable with a 24/7 on-call structure while on rotation

Salary and Benefits

  • $120-$130k+ DOE
  • Healthcare stipend
