Overview

A busy family in New York City is seeking a dependable, organized, and flexible Housekeeper/Cook to assist with the day-to-day needs of their household. The ideal candidate is comfortable preparing simple, everyday meals and assisting with general household upkeep. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes direction well, is adaptable, and can anticipate the needs of a busy household.

The family travels frequently, so flexibility and the ability to adjust to changing household needs are important.

Schedule:

Full-time hours are anticipated, with the specific schedule to be determined.

Responsibilities

• Prepare simple, well-rounded meals and handle basic food preparation for the household.
• Assist with meal planning, grocery shopping, and keeping the kitchen organized and stocked.
• Maintain general household cleanliness and organization.
• Assist with light housekeeping tasks and small household needs as they arise.
• Keep household spaces tidy, organized, and running smoothly.
• Follow household preferences, instructions, and routines.
• Adapt to changing schedules and household needs, including periods when the family is traveling.

• Flexible and adaptable, with a willingness to assist where needed.
• Takes direction well and is comfortable following the family's preferences and routines.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a private household or similar housekeeper/cook role.
• Comfortable preparing everyday meals and familiar with standard home cooking.
• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage daily responsibilities independently.
• Reliable, proactive, and able to maintain a consistent standard of household care.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Professional, discreet, and respectful of household privacy.
• Ability to work independently while remaining responsive to the family's direction.

Salary and Benefits

• $50-$65/hr DOE
• PTO, sick days, holidays
