Job Description

If you’re looking for a career that will help you stand out, join HSBC, and fulfil your potential - whether you want a career that could take you to the top, or an exciting new direction, we offer opportunities, support and rewards that will take you further.

We’re one of the largest banking and financial services organisations in the world, with a network that covers more than 50 countries and territories. We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.

We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Advisory Specialist – Private Banking & Wealth where you’ll help shape and elevate our UK advisory proposition to be truly best-in-class. You’ll work closely with the UK Chief Investment Office, Product Specialists and global partners to deliver high-impact investment campaigns, strengthen portfolio analytics and controls, and enhance our advisory platforms (including new capabilities such as AI-led commentary). This is a role for someone who enjoys combining deep multi-asset analytics with practical delivery—turning insight into implementation ideas, scalable processes and measurable commercial outcomes.

As an HSBC employee in the UK, you’ll have access to tailored professional development opportunities and a competitive pay and benefits package. This includes private healthcare for all UK-based employees, enhanced maternity and adoption pay and support when you return to work, and a contributory pension scheme with a generous employer contribution.

In this role you’ll:

  • Lead portfolio analytics controls and data quality standards, ensuring robust governance and reliable outputs across advisory platforms.
  • Deliver investment sales campaigns and support the smooth running of advisory platforms across UK WPS, from design through to execution and performance review.
  • Own the Advisory Forum agenda and outcomes, including driving product implementation fulfilment and follow-through.
  • Act as SME for complex modelling and risk-related questions, ensuring accuracy of data feeds and calculations used in advisory tools.
  • Design and implement a scalable, non-manual sales tracking and campaign success framework (leveraging existing tools or securing funding for new functionality).
  • Drive proposition enhancements and change delivery, including vendor change requests, requirements definition, process mapping, and collaboration with global teams and forums.

To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:

  • Proven track record within Wealth Management, Private Banking, or other related domains such as Asset Management with strong understanding of advisory propositions
  • Deep analytical capability across multi-asset portfolio management (including alternatives) and strong grasp of portfolio risk modelling concepts.
  • Strong data and controls mindset: experience managing data streams, troubleshooting issues such as asset classifications, risk calculations as well as supporting audits/governance.
  • Confident stakeholder management and communication skills, able to influence senior leaders, partners, vendors and 2nd Line of Defence stakeholders.
  • Experience commercialising propositions and enabling sales activity through campaigns, tracking, and performance analytics.
  • Desirable: knowledge of Aladdin Wealth or knowledge of equivalent portfolio/risk analytics frameworks; CFA charterholder or studying towards.
