We are hiring an Advisory Network Engineer to support one of our United States Navy customers. This individual will have the opportunity to work with advanced technology, setting up and installing system hardware and applications, and providing ongoing support and administration of the systems. Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the maintenance, configuration, and reliable operation of network switches and firewalls.
  • Install and upgrade networking components and software, and integrate automation processes (i.e., Cisco ISE).
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing the impact of issues.
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to IT staff for planning and implementing new/upgrades to the IT infrastructure.
  • Perform regular backup operations and implement appropriate processes for data protection, disaster recovery, and failover procedures.
  • Provide security hardened templates of each Network Device in use (i.e., Cisco Switch, Cisco Firewall, etc.)
  • Develop Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required, including build guides/directives, to ensure reliable/repeatable system builds.
  • Provide analysis to optimize and tune overall system performance.
  • Assist ISSM and ISSO personnel with the documentation and completion of the New ATO Package requirements.
  • Up to 75% travel to the customer site at Pt. Mugu, CA.

Education/Qualifications

Required:

  • Must be a U.S. Citizen with an active Department of Defense Secret clearance.
  • The ability to work 5 days per week on-site at Point Mugu in Ventura County, CA.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • 10+ years of relevant Information Assurance/Cyber Security experience.
  • One of the following: CompTIA Security +, CompTIA Cloud+, SSCP, GSEC, GCIH, CEH, GICSP *OR* Cyber Workforce (CWF) Training per NE 441 training certificate.
  • Ability to support up to 75% travel to the customer site at Pt. Mugu, CA.
  • Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs.
  • Must have experience/knowledge of the following:
    • Network Configuration
    • Network Architecture Design
    • Working knowledge of DISA STIGS
    • Firewall concepts and implementation
    • Networking concepts

Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, or Computer Science, from an ABET-accredited or NCAE-designated institution.
  • CCNA or CCNP certification.
