Responsibilities:

  • Structure-based design efforts forthelead/late-stageoptimization of small moleculetherapeutics across a range oftherapeutic areas

  • Play a key role in prioritizing medicinal chemistry efforts through critical analysis and effective decision-making leading to highly focused work and rapid progress

  • Ensure the timely delivery ofdata and resultsto project teamstoenable rapiditerative design cycles

  • Maintain critical timelines and setteam expectationsforefficientdeliveryof clinical candidates

  • Work closely with otherdiscoveryscientists tomoveour portfolio of molecules from leads to quality drug candidatesthat havea strong potential to become breakthrough drugs

Basic Requirements

  • PhD in Chemistry, Biophysics or related discipline

    with0to5years of Drug Discovery research experience

Additional Preferences:

  • A scientific background in computational chemistry and related technology applied to guide compound optimization for medicinal chemists

  • Proactive and effectivecollaborationwith medicinal chemistry, structural biology, and otherdisciplines to achieve project goals and timelines

  • Strong core desiretohelp patients in need

  • Deep-thinking that leads to creative hypotheses for the optimization of lead series across multiple projects

  • A strong desire to establish a deeper understanding of all aspects of drug discovery, including small molecule-protein interactions, ADME, and toxicological considerations

  • A desire to continually stay uptodate with the latest industry developments and novel techniques employed in discoveryincluding AI and machine learningmodels

  • A proactive and highly engaged approach to solving challenging problems in discovery is essential

  • Knowledgeofleadoptimizationusing structure-based design andotheraspects ofcomputational chemistry

  • Agility andadaptabilitytochangeresearchprioritiesas necessaryfor success

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is

$138,000 - $224,400

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
