Ready to make a real impact? As an Advisor, Safer Communities, you’ll play a vital frontline role in supporting safe, respectful and inclusive environments across UQ. Acting as a trusted first point of contact, you’ll respond to disclosures of gender-based violence, behavioural risks and other concerns with empathy and professionalism.
You’ll work within a highly collaborative team to deliver trauma-informed, person-centred support during sensitive and complex situations helping ensure coordinated, timely responses that prioritise safety, wellbeing and dignity for our students and staff.
Key responsibilities will include:
Demonstrated experience applying trauma-informed, culturally responsive and person-centred approaches.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with empathy in sensitive situations.
Sound judgement and the ability to follow procedures and escalate matters appropriately.
Relevant qualifications or equivalent experience in psychology, social work, counselling, criminology or a related field.
A collaborative mindset and commitment to reflective practice and continuous professional development.

A degree in a relevant discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and work effectively with diverse stakeholders
Demonstrated judgement in applying policies, procedures and legislation, with the ability to adapt processes to meet outcomes
Experience coordinating programs, projects or initiatives, including planning, timelines and delivery
Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in a service-focused environment
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret data and support decision-making
