Te tūranga – The role
Join the Risk Specialistteam within the Financial Stability Group, the team responsible for safeguarding New Zealand’s financial system. As an Advisor, you will draw on yourcyber resilience andtechnologyrisksubject matter and technicalexpertiseto deliver projects, initiatives and workstreams within the Group. The role also involvescontributing to supervisory risk assessments,providinghigh-qualityguidance,coachingcolleagues, and contributing thought leadership within your areas of expertise.
In this role you will:
Lead and supportGroupstrategy, policy,andsupervision initiativesrelating tocyberandtechnologyrisk management, operational resilience, outsourcing, incidentreportingand critical operations, including developingsupervisoryframeworksby providing specialist advice and challenge
Lead key work programmes, analytical projects,and technicalreviews,and support cross-functional initiatives and publications related tocyber and technologyrisk, including supporting,coachingor guiding colleagues.
Provide thought leadership and high-quality analysis on global and domestic developments,cyber threats and emerging vulnerabilities that may affect regulated entities and/or the financial system and contributing totheReserve Bank’s response to these risks.
Maintain cyber incident response protocols in collaboration with internal and external stakeholdersandleadtheReserve Bank’s response to regulated entity incidentreporting
Apply sound judgement to resolve complex issues and build trust with management and key stakeholders.
Provide subject matter and technical advice acrosstheReserve Bankto support capability building and access totimely, high-quality information.
Build andmaintainconstructive relationships acrosstheReserve Bank, public sector, domestic and international regulators,cyber agencies,centralbanksand other relevant organisations.

To be successful in this role you will bring:
Experience in regulatory compliance, consulting,cybersecurity,orinformation security, with strong technicalexpertiseinfinancial services risk management,operational resilience,cyberresilienceand/ortechnology risk.
A relevant tertiary qualificationin information technology, cyber security, computer science, engineering, risk management, finance,accountingor a related discipline.
At least five years’ experience in banking, insurance, financial markets,cyber security,technology risk, governance, risk and compliance (GRC), or a related field
Relevant professional certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CISA, ISO 27001 Lead Auditor, cloud security certifications, GIAC certifications, or equivalent practical experience would beadvantageous
Knowledge of financial services regulation and relevantcyberandtechnologyrisk frameworks such as ISO 27001, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, or equivalent frameworks
Experience leading and delivering statistical, analytical,technology,policyor financial initiatives and workstreams.
Strong understanding of global and domestic issues affecting the New Zealandeconomy, particularlyin relation tocyberandtechnology resilience
Sound judgement, holisticthinkingand the ability to provide leadership in a dynamic, open team environment.
A collaborative approach that draws on the knowledge of colleagues and stakeholders and contributes constructively to shared outcomes.
Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complextechnicalinformation to technical and non-specialist audiences(including Boards and Executive teams)

The anticipated appointment range for this role is $ 155,629 to $ 168,598 (actual salary will be dependent on your skills and experience).
