
Our client, a well-established Corporate Service Provider in Malta, is looking for a Senior Legal Advisor (Regulatory & Compliance) to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity to provide practical legal and regulatory support, with a focus on compliance and client advisory, while managing a portfolio of clients.
This is a hybrid role offering a salary of up to €60K
Please note that only candidates already based in Malta with a valid warrant to practice law in Malta can be considered.
Role & Responsibilities
Manage a portfolio of clients, ensuring high-quality service and building strong, long-term relationships
Act as a key liaison between clients and authorities, as well as between clients and their counterparties, handling queries and facilitating effective communication
Assist clients throughout their operational lifecycle by preparing legal documentation, handling regulatory submissions, and coordinating with regulatory entities
Provide legal and regulatory support to clients across several sectors, including licensing, authorisations, and ongoing compliance with the MGA, MFSA, and other authorities
Provide legal support for corporate transactions, structuring, and restructuring projects
Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, agreements, and other legal or regulatory documents
Contribute to the planning, implementation, and management of compliance and regulatory activities
Monitor and interpret legal and regulatory developments, advising clients on potential impacts and necessary actions
Support internal legal, regulatory, and corporate teams in meeting ongoing compliance obligations
Collaborate with colleagues across several departments
Education, Skills & Experience
Minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience in a similar role
Holds a Master of Advocacy (M.Adv), Doctor of Laws (LL.D), or equivalent
Holds a valid warrant to practice law in Malta – non-negotiable
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
Proven experience in regulated industries
Experience with MFSA licensing and regulatory frameworks is an asset
Exposure to AML/CFT compliance management is beneficial
Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and within a team
Proficient in Microsoft Office
