Reporting to the EVR’s Director of Regulatory & Government Affairs, this role supports EVR’s government relations and advocacy work at the provincial and federal level.
To be successful, we are looking for someone with a strong understanding of B.C.’s mining sector, exceptional writing and interpersonal skills, and a demonstrated ability to build relationships with government.

Participate in and adhere to health and safety programs and policies
Monitor provincial and federal policy activities for potential impacts or opportunities related to EVR’s business priorities
Develop briefing notes, backgrounders, position statements, and other policy-related content to support senior leader meetings with officials, industry associations, or other stakeholders
Co-ordinate various government submissions and information requests
Collaborate with other team members in Communications, Indigenous Relations, Projects, Environmental Performance, and Marketing with respect to monitoring and assessing policy changes and their potential impact on EVR’s business
Oversee EVR’s provincial and federal lobbyist reporting requirements
Represent EVR in industry and government committees, when required
Minimum five years of direct experience in the B.C. provincial government and/or in a government relations role for a B.C.-based mining company
Bachelor’s degree in political science or equivalent
Sound knowledge of the policy development and legislative process
Exceptional writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
Strong qualitative and quantitative research and analytical skills
Organized and strong attention to detail
Valid Class 5 Driver’s License or equivalent
