The Advancement Information Specialist (AIS)willbe responsible forthedevelopmentanddesignoftimely,easilyreadable,detailed, and analytic summary reports to stakeholders and various positions within DAR.In addition, the AIS will interpret users’ business needs then translate and assemble the reports to management or users of Salesforce.

The Departmentof Developmentand AlumniRelations(DAR) assists VanderbiltUniversity insecuring the resources, both human and financial, that are required to achieve its mission and goals.The Department is responsible for the identification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of individuals and organizations whose charitable objectives are consistent with those of Vanderbilt University’s teaching and research programs. KeyFunctionsandExpectedPerformance:

  • Utilize SnowflakeSQL,Tableau,and Salesforceindesigningandexecutingdatatoprovide solutions for reporting requirements for DAR.

  • Meetand collaborate with DARstaff to interpretbusinessneedsandofferany additional analysis to attain the users end goals.

  • Providead-hocreportsanddataanalysisroutinelyandmeetrequired deadlines.

  • Ensure ahighqualityofaccuracy indata reported.

  • ProvidetechnicalsupporttousersandteammembersofSalesforce reporting.

  • Lookbeyondsymptomsto uncover underlying causes ofproblemsand identify ways toresolve them.

  • Demonstrateasenseofownership,focusingonanddrivingcriticalissuesto closure.

  • DemonstratestrongunderstandingoftheSalesforcedatatoidentifyandelevate opportunities.

  • Handlesensitivedonor,parent,friend,and studentinformationinthestrictest confidence, according to departmental and institutional policies.

  • WorkcooperativelywithDevelopment andAlumniRelations colleagues.

  • MaintainstrongandeffectiverelationshipswithVanderbiltfacultyandstaffexternalto DAR.

  • Performotherdutiesandresponsibilitiesasassigned.

    Supervisory Relationships:

    Thispositiondoesnothavesupervisoryresponsibility;this positionreportsadministrativelyand functionally to the Executive Director of Advancement Information Services and Reporting

    WorkEnvironment:

    This position will be a hybridrolebasedin the Nashville, TN area.The expectation is to be intheoffice1dayperweek or more depending on business needs.

    Education and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree, or the equivalent, is necessary

    ExperienceandSkills

  • 2 years of relevant data analyst experience, or the equivalent, is preferred

  • StrongSQL experience

  • DataVisualizationexperience,Tableau preferred

  • Superiorverbalandwrittencommunicationskillsare necessary

  • Abilitytoexercisegoodjudgmentinthehandlingofconfidential information

  • Abilityto usecurrent computertechnology,suchasWindows,Excel,Word,Teams,Snowflake SQL, and Salesforce

  • Theideal candidatewillbe ahighlymotivated,professionalteamplayer withcourteous interpersonal skills and an excellent customer service attitude

  • Candidatemust alsohave the capacitytoperformin an intellectuallyrigorous andcomplex academic environment

  • Theabilitytoapplysoundjudgmentinallsituationsis required,asareexcellentorganizational skills with a meticulous attention to detail

  • Abilityto workindependently,takeinitiative,managemultipleprojects simultaneously,meet deadlines, and adapt to changing priorities are essential
