What role you will play in our team:

The Advanced Vehicle and Fuel Engineer within the Fuel Products Technology Department is expected to think proactively and generate innovative ideas grounded in sound scientific principles. The role requires strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with global, cross‑functional teams while staying informed of emerging technological developments. It is essential to build and maintain strong industry relationships and stay informed of emerging technological developments. Occasional travel is required to engage with internal teams and external customers. The position also requires awareness of environmental, safety, and regulatory standards impacting fuel and vehicle technologies.

What you will do:

  • Understand implications of fuel properties, fuel composition, and refining processes on future fuel and vehicle systems
  • Develop fuel products for high-performance engines and motorsports applications
  • Lead research programs (internally and leveraged industry) as a recognized subject matter expert in Fuel and Combustion Science
  • Influence, direct, and communicate technical research on future fuel and vehicle systems
  • Create sound science rationale for technical positions related to emerging issues for fuel products
  • Evaluate feasibility and market impact of emerging fuel and vehicle technologies and communicate to business stakeholders
  • Critically review changes to regulations and legislation related to fuel products and communicate impacts to business stakeholders.

What skills and experiences do you need:

  • Ph.D. or M.S. in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Fuel Science or related discipline
  • Experience with fuel formulation, combining knowledge of fuel composition with performance properties
  • Expertise in fuel and combustion science, including fuel chemistry, combustion kinetics, and emissions behavior
  • Strong application knowledge of internal combustion engines, powertrain systems, and vehicle after-treatment technologies
  • Proven track record in developing, testing, and evaluating fuel products for advanced or emerging engine technologies, including high-performance or motorsports applications.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industry experience in fuel, engine, or powertrain development
