Requisition Summary


In this position you are responsible to ensure engineering requirements match process capabilities to realize defect free launches. You will lead and coordinate APQP to ensure cross functional teams perform all task to be ready in time for launch for both volume and quality. This job will provide excellent insight in how development processes run through several departments, and how these departments work. It also provides exposure to senior management as launches are essential for future revenues. This position will be located in Denton, TX.


Job Functions / Responsibilities

  • Lead supplier advance product quality efforts (APQP) in coordination with Purchasing, Engineering, and Program Management for launch of new product programs.
  • Work with suppliers, Program Management, Supplier Quality Managers, Product Planning, Engineering, Purchasing, PACCAR Technical Center and PACCAR Plants to complete milestone deliverables, ensuring PACCAR requirements are met for Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and launch.
  • Function as primary interface between Engineering, Technical Center, Purchasing, and Suppliers to alleviate discrepancies in product specifications to ensure consistent manufacturing of parts according to specification
  • Work closely with Program Management in the development and implementation of program and part specific timing plans that achieve PPAP targets for pre-production build events and launch.
  • Function as Supplier Quality representative in the identification, risk mitigation and escalation of emerging program issues that impact supplier readiness for production and program launch.
  • Support timely and comprehensive reporting of supplier program readiness.
  • Perform on-site evaluations of supplier’s capabilities to meet PACCAR quality requirements.
  • Work closely and effectively with suppliers to improve overall performance to PACCAR, including the identification, communication, documentation, and closure of corrective actions, and development needs.
  • Participate in global Supplier Quality process standardization teams.
  • Approximately 10-25% travel depending on business conditions.


Qualifications & Skills

EDUCATION/TRAINING REQUIRED:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Industrial/Manufacturing) and/or other technical discipline
  • Strong working knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean.
  • Strong working knowledge of APQP, including Design Reviews, PPAP, Process Control Plan, PFMEA, MSA
  • Strong working knowledge of DOE, SPC, GD&T, Corrective Actions Processes: ability to interpret and understand complex drawings.

OTHER SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum 7 years professional experience of which 5 are in commercial vehicle/automotive quality engineering
  • Demonstrated effectiveness leading and collaborating with cross-functional global teams
  • Demonstrated drive to complete assignments on time, deliver requirements and meet goals

EDUCATION/TRAINING PREFERRED:

  • Project management experience
  • Working knowledge of IATF 16949:2016 and ISO 9001:2015 methodologies
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including injection molding, composites, metal stamping, casting, machining, or complex assembly
  • American Society for Quality – CMQ/OE, CQE, CQA, CSQP Certification
