Job title - Advanced Specialist, Product Management (Creative Curriculum)

Shape the future of creative education by developing innovative, teacher-trusted qualifications that inspire the next generation of learners.

About the Role

We’re looking for a creatively minded Product Manager to join our Creative Curriculum team at a pivotal moment of curriculum reform.

This is a rare opportunity to influence the future of creative qualifications, working closely with subject experts to design and deliver products that will shape what students learn for years to come.

While an Art & Design GCSE and A Level background is highly desirable, we welcome candidates with broader creative subject expertise and a passion for education and curriculum development.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Proposition Development

  • Develop and maintain deep customer and market insight across creative subjects (e.g. Art & Design, Drama, Music, Design & Technology, PE)
  • Contribute to subject strategy development and execution in partnership with the wider portfolio team
  • Create compelling, differentiated qualification propositions with clear USPs
  • Track competitor activity and identify opportunities for innovation and growth

Qualification Design & Development

  • Scope, design, and develop qualifications and sample assessments that inspire teachers and engage learners
  • Support the development, submission, and approval process in line with regulatory requirements (e.g. Ofqual)
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external experts to produce high-quality content and assessment materials

Customer & Market Insight

  • Build and maintain a strong evidence base of learner and teacher needs through ongoing research and engagement
  • Develop relationships with subject stakeholders to inform qualification development and continuous improvement
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of pedagogy, assessment best practice, and curriculum developments

Lifecycle Management & Commercial Ownership

  • Manage qualifications across their full lifecycle, including launch, growth, and redevelopment decisions
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and revenue planning for qualifications
  • Contribute to annual planning cycles, including one- and three-year forecasts

Customer Experience & Engagement

  • Deliver a best-in-class customer experience through events, support services, and ongoing engagement
  • Plan and deliver customer-facing events, networks, and training initiatives
  • Monitor and improve customer satisfaction through feedback and insight (e.g. NPS, qualitative research)

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Sales and Marketing teams to develop and implement data-driven campaigns and customer journeys
  • Work collaboratively across UK and global teams to support portfolio growth
  • Ensure alignment across all stages of the product lifecycle

Skills & Experience

  • Experience in product management, portfolio management, or a similar role
  • Background in education, curriculum development, or qualifications (creative subject expertise highly desirable)
  • Strong understanding of GCSE and A Level qualifications and the UK education landscape
  • Ability to translate customer and market insight into clear product strategies
  • Experience developing or launching products, services, or qualifications
  • Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Commercial awareness, including budgeting and forecasting
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex ideas clearly

Leadership & Culture

  • Work effectively across virtual and cross-functional teams in a global environment
  • Champion a customer-first mindset, ensuring decisions are driven by the needs of teachers and learners
  • Contribute to a collaborative, high-performing team culture aligned to Pearson’s Schools strategy
