Based on the North West Coast of Tasmania this position will be providing School Social Work service to the West Coast

About the Role

As a DECYP Advanced Skills School Social Worker you will:

• provide professional advice and services such as counselling, mediation, advocacy and information for students, families and schools
• assist the senior social worker to provide leadership and specialist support in response to critical incidents and emergencies, including support for staff involved
• assist with complex case management
• provide professional practice supervision and leadership in professional learning.
• Based on the North West Coast of Tasmania this position will be providing School Social Work service to the West Coast

You will be welcomed into a highly supportive, team-based environment. Your regional and statewide school social work teams stay connected via regular meetings and online communication channels. You will work collaboratively with speech and language pathologists, school psychologists, school health nurses and other staff.

We are offering

• Fixed Term part-time hours of 15.2 hours per fortnight - 5 October 2026 until 4 October 2027
• (Fixed term opportunity to increase hours up to 76 hours per fortnight negotiable)
• Professional development $1,000 per annum for professional development expenses and eligibility to apply for up to 10 days paid study leave (pro-rata).

We are looking for

Essential

• Tertiary qualification/program of study accredited by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) and is a full member of AASW or is eligible for membership with the AASW.
• Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People (RWVP) with a registration Status – Employment

Desirable

• A current driver's licence.
