Position Overview

We are seeking a full-time Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join our Breast Surgery team in High Point, North Carolina.

This is a 1.0 FTE hybrid inpatient/outpatient position offering the opportunity to support patients across the breast surgery continuum of care. The APP will work collaboratively with the supervising physician and interdisciplinary care team while providing high-quality, patient-centered care in both the clinic and hospital setting.

This opportunity is open to experienced APPs as well as new graduates who are interested in developing their career in breast surgery.

Position Responsibilities

The Advanced Practice Provider will collaborate with the breast surgery team to support the evaluation, treatment, and ongoing management of patients in both outpatient and inpatient settings.

• Provide patient-centered care within the Breast Surgery service
• Evaluate and manage patients in the outpatient clinical setting
• Participate in inpatient care responsibilities as appropriate to the position
• Obtain patient histories and perform physical examinations
• Develop and implement appropriate plans of care in collaboration with the supervising physician
• Order and evaluate appropriate diagnostic studies and clinical testing within the APP's scope of practice
• Provide patient and family education throughout the course of care
• Coordinate care with physicians and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team
• Maintain accurate, timely clinical documentation
• Perform procedures within the scope of the position, training, credentialing, and applicable hospital privileges

Qualifications

Candidates should meet the appropriate education, certification, licensure, credentialing, and privileging requirements for practice as an Advanced Practice Provider.

Nurse Practitioner Candidates

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program
• Eligible for or currently hold appropriate North Carolina licensure
• Eligible for required hospital privileges

Physician Assistant Candidates

• Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• Eligible for or currently hold appropriate North Carolina licensure
• Eligible for required hospital privileges

Schedule & Call

The APP will also participate in the team's call schedule, with call coverage rotating approximately once every six weeks.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

• Graduation from accredited Nurse Practitioner Master's Program

LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, and/or REGISTRATION:

• Current applicable state Board of Nursing Registered Nurse and Nurse Practitioner license
• Board certified in NP specialty

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Using medical decision-making skills to determine appropriate patient care plan.
• Collaborates with medical team when needed for effective team-based care.
• Order and interpret laboratory studies and diagnostic procedures. Explains the necessity, preparation, nature and anticipated effects of scheduled diagnostic and therapeutic procedures to the patient.
• Procedural skills per department or practice guidelines
