Job Description:

Job Summary:

University Cancer and Blood Center is hiring a full-time Nurse Practitioner/ Physician Assistant. The Radiation Oncology Advanced Practice Provider (APP) works collaboratively with radiation oncologists, nursing staff, physicists, dosimetrists, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for oncology patients receiving radiation therapy. The APP is responsible for evaluating, diagnosing, treating, educating, and managing patients throughout the continuum of cancer care, including consultation, treatment planning, symptom management, survivorship, and follow-up care. We are offering a $5,000 sign-on bonus!!

Key Responsibilities:

The duties and responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, including history and physical examinations.
  • Evaluate new and established patients in collaboration with radiation oncologists.
  • Order, interpret, and review diagnostic tests, laboratory studies, and imaging results.
  • Develop and implement treatment plans within scope of practice and established protocols.
  • Manage acute and chronic treatment-related side effects associated with radiation therapy.
  • Prescribe medications and supportive therapies in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies.
  • Perform follow-up visits and monitor treatment response and patient progress.
  • Document patient encounters accurately and timely within the electronic medical record (EMR).
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including medical oncology, surgical oncology, radiology, pathology, palliative care, and other specialists.
  • Facilitate referrals and coordinate patient care across the cancer treatment continuum.
  • Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment options, potential side effects, and symptom management strategies.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Current NP or PA License in the state of GA
  • Previous experience is preferred
  • Ability to work independently and closely with a team
