The Simmons Comprehensive Cancer Center (SCCC), a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center affiliated with UT Southwestern Medical Center, is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join the Simmons Acute Care and Infusion Center team. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will provide oncology-focused acute care services for established cancer patients in a fast-paced outpatient setting while working closely with physicians, APPs, nurses, pharmacists, infusion teams, and inpatient care partners. The APP will evaluate and manage urgent oncology concerns, interpret laboratory and diagnostic studies, coordinate multidisciplinary care, facilitate admissions and transitions of care, support infusion operations, and provide patient and family education.
This unique role offers the opportunity to work across multiple oncology service lines while caring for patients who may otherwise require emergency department evaluation. Candidates with oncology, hospital medicine, inpatient internal medicine, acute care, critical care, bone marrow transplant, or solid tumor experience are strongly preferred. Veteran's encouraged to apply.
Schedule: APPs generally work four 10-hour shifts per week with one to two 12-hour shifts incorporated into the schedule as needed. Current requirements include approximately one Saturday per month, typically scheduled from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There are no major holiday requirements at this time. Schedule requirements are subject to change based on the continued expansion of Simmons Acute Care services.
