7:30am-5:30pmThe Department of Hospital Medicine is ready to add a qualified Family/Adult/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to our Main Campus day team!
A provider in this role will work to the top of license providing care to patients on an inpatient unit from admission to discharge. Responsibilities will include, but not limited to, performing admission H&P, daily rounding, evaluating patients with change in clinical condition, coordinating care with consult services, multidisciplinary rounding and discharging.
All candidates must be graduates of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or PA program to be considered. At least one year of inpatient medicine experience is preferred but new graduates with inpatient medicine exposure will be considered.
APRN: Nationally certified licensed healthcare provider who provides primary and/or specialty nursing and/or medical care in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions in collaboration with a physician according to a standard care arrangement and specialty certification. Provides advanced nursing care to patients with complex acute, critical, and chronic health conditions, including the delivery of acute care services.
PA: Nationally certified licensed healthcare provider who provides primary and or specialty medical care (the practice of medicine) in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions the collaboration agreement of a Physician, (as per O.R.C. 4730) performs complete histories and physicals on patients of all ages to establish and record patient's current health status and to develop a working diagnosis and treatment plan to provide continuing medical care, including daily examinations, writing orders, chart notes, discharging patients and completing discharge summaries. This medical care may be in a variety of clinical settings. PA's are privileged by the Board of Governors. PA's in this role provide advanced care to patients with in any setting in which patients require complex, acute, critical and chronic health conditions. Practice in a setting that requires complex monitoring and therapies and high intensity medical/surgical interventions and/or continuous vigilance within the range of high-acuity care.
The Hospital Medicine Department is ready to add a qualified Family/Adult/Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to its inpatient team. Hospital Medicine locations could be Main Campus. This coverage could include future Hospital Medicine locations, but the home site will be Main Campus. The provider in this role will work to the top of license providing inpatient care to adults in Hospital Medicine. All candidates must be graduates of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or PA program to be considered.
The ideal candidate has inpatient experience, preferably in Hospital Medicine and should be comfortable handling a wide range of work throughout the day. The standard hours for this role are 7:00am - 5:00pm. Weekends, holidays, and on-call will be required for the role. Yes, new grads are welcome to apply.

Effective 05/01/2014: MSN required upon hire or within 3 years of hire for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role.
Graduate of an accredited APRN program.
If in neonatal care service area Master’s Degree is required upon hire.
PA
Graduate of an A.R.C. approved Physician Assistant Program.
Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies and/or higher degree obtained from a program recognized by their practicing states Licensing Board.
Certifications:

Currently licensed as a Nurse Practitioner in applicable state(s).
Must be licensed as an RN in applicable state(s).
National certification as a Nurse Practitioner by nationally accredited organization recognized by state Board of Nursing.
Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (AHA); or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) may be required based upon work setting.
Must have arrangements with at least one physician in accordance with requirements set forth by the State Board of Nursing in applicable states.
Must be credentialed and privileged by the Medical Executive Committee and the Governing Body of the applicable hospitals.

Certification as a Physician Assistant through the NCCPA or successor organization recognized by their practicing states Licensing Board.
License to practice and prescribe issued by their practicing states Licensing Board.
Current DEA License or DEA designee as required by NCQA.
Basic Life Support (BLS) through the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) through the American Heart Association (AHA); or Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) through the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP); or Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) American Heart Association may be required based upon work setting.
If a candidate has held a license to prescribe within another jurisdiction and needs to obtain a master's degree in order to apply for prescribing privileges the candidate will be subject for review for eligibility for hiring within our system.
Must have a Physician Supervision Agreement and signed addendum to Physician Supervision Agreement.
