Cleveland Clinic Indian River Hospital is seeking a knowledgeable Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (Adult/Acute/Primary General & Family Certifications accepted) to join our Hematology & Oncology collaborative team, serving the adult population. Duties include but are not limited to patient care for people with hematological and oncologic health issues. Responsibilities encompass obtaining history and conducting physical exams, ordering imaging/lab studies to diagnose and manage conditions, collaborating with physicians and the nursing team to schedule, order, and administer chemotherapy, managing chemotherapy side effects as needed, performing procedures when trained to do so, assisting with hospital rounds as needed, and coordinating discharge plans, follow-ups, home health, prescriptions, and providing survivorship care for patients who have completed chemotherapy.
The schedule is typically Monday through Friday but may vary based on department needs.
Ideal applicants will have clinical experience within Oncology. Newly licensed PAs will only be considered if they completed clinical rotations in Hematology/Oncology. Newly licensed NPs will be considered, RN Hematology/ Oncology experience preferred.
Nationally certified Advanced Practice Provider who provides primary and/or specialty care in a variety of healthcare settings. Functions in collaboration with the health care team in accordance with certification and licensure. Practice emphasizes health promotion, disease prevention and the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic health problems. Responsible for dissemination of knowledge through instructing, leading and developing educational programs.
Effective 05/01/2014: MSN required upon hire or within 3 years of hire for external hires and internal hires moving from a non-APRN licensed role to an APRN licensed role.
Graduate of an accredited APRN program.
If in neonatal care service area Master’s Degree is required upon hire.
Graduate of an A.R.C. approved Physician Assistant Program.
Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies and/or higher degree obtained from a program recognized by their practicing states Licensing Board.
