The Emergency Room Nurse Practitioner will function in collaboration with the physicians on the team in the care of patients of varying ages who require urgent or emergent care. They will perform physical exams, collect and document data, organize/perform approved diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, order and schedule laboratory studies and professional consults, prescribe appropriate interventions and medications, and provide direct patient care services to admitted Internal Medicine patients. The ED Nurse Practitioner will contribute to excellence in patient care, research, teaching, consulting and provide leadership within the organization and the nursing profession.
