Boone Memorial Hospital, Inc. (BMH) is seeking a qualified Podiatry Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to provide comprehensive outpatient care to patients with foot and ankle conditions. The Advanced Practice Provider will work collaboratively with podiatry, primary care, and specialty providers and practice under the direction of the Chief Medical Officer and Chief Clinic Services Officer.
This position is primarily based at BMH Medical Clinic B in Madison, WV, with occasional coverage at other BMH locations as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Provide outpatient podiatric care for patients with acute and chronic foot and ankle conditions
• Perform patient assessments, diagnose conditions, and develop treatment plans within scope of practice
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests, including laboratory and imaging studies
• Prescribe medications and treatment regimens in accordance with licensure and scope of practice
• Perform outpatient podiatric procedures consistent with training, education, and experience
• Educate patients on treatment options, medications, preventive care, and lifestyle modifications
• Maintain accurate, timely documentation in the electronic health record
• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and other members of the healthcare team
• Comply with all BMH, Medical Staff, Rural Health Clinic, and quality assurance policies
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and medical staff activities as assigned
• Maintain patient confidentiality and comply with all federal and state privacy laws
Required Qualifications
• Licensed Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the State of West Virginia
• Board certification appropriate to role
• Minimum of one (1) year of experience as an Advanced Practice Provider
• Current ACLS and PALS certification (or ability to obtain)
• Strong clinical, communication, and patient-education skills
Preferred
Qualifications
• Experience in podiatry, wound care, diabetic foot care, or orthopedics
• Outpatient clinical experience
Physical Requirements
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, lift up to 50 pounds, and perform repetitive movements associated with clinical care
Travel
• Up to 10% travel within West Virginia and surrounding areas
