Applications are sought for a 1.0 FTE full-time faculty clinical position with benefits Instructor of Clinical Practice/NP or PA, at UCHealth Lone Tree Medical Center. Candidates should have a strong professional background in Oncology and/or Hematology. The Advanced Practice Provider (APP) position is responsible for identifying, assessing, planning and coordinating services for oncology and hematology patients. The APP will be an active participant in clinical work seeing patients daily in Oncology clinics, as well as overseeing an anti-cancer intravenous infusion area. The APP will provide in-office and virtual/telephone support for patients and their families. As part of this position, additional training as needed in active symptom management, palliative care, and clinical trials conduct will be provided. A 1.0 FTE position includes 40 hours per work week. Hours may be distributed based on clinic needs as volumes grow. Primary work location: UCHealth Lone Tree Medical Center located at 9548 Park Meadows Drive, Lone Tree, CO 80124.

Key Responsibilities

This full-time faculty APP position is responsible for identifying, assessing, planning, and coordinating services for oncology patients receiving care UCHealth Lone Tree Medical Center.This APP will foster quality, continuity and appropriate utilization of healthcare resources throughout the continuum of care. Supervision may be appropriate for optimal patient care.

Examplesofworkperformedincludesthefollowing specific duties:

  • Managesthehealthcareofpatientsat Lone Tree including coordination of care (as necessary) with the Anschutz Campus. Possible clinical sites also include Highlands Ranch Hospital and Cherry Creek Medical Center.

  • Performsa comprehensivehealthassessment,includinghealthhistory,physicalexams,preventive screening;identifiesmedicalhealthrisksandneeds.

  • Performsscheduledstudy-relatedvisits,studyscreenings,andtoxicityassessmentsof patientsonphaseI-IIIclinical trials.

  • Formulatestheappropriatedifferentialdiagnoses basedonclinical evaluation.

  • Ordersand/or interprets diagnosticstudieswithinscopeofpracticeandclinical areaofpracticeatHighlands Ranch and Lone Tree.

  • Performsadvancedtechnicalprocedureswithinthescopeofclinical practiceforthese programsaswellasotherprogramsrequestingprocedures accordingtoschedule.

  • Plansandimplementstherapeuticregimensthatincludebothnursingandmedical managementstrategies,includingprescription ofmedications and devices.

  • Establishessystematicfollow-upforevaluationoftheplanofcareandreassessesand modifiestheplan,asnecessary,includinginitiation ofreferralsandconsultationwith physiciansandotherhealthcareprovidersasappropriate.

  • Closes charts within seven working days, not regarding extenuating circumstances.

  • Assures patientandfamilyteachingisadequatetomanagetheillnessorwellnessplanat home.

  • Facilitatespatientparticipationandpromotesengagementbyproviding informationneededto makedecisionsandchoices.

  • Facilitatesappropriateutilizationofthemedicalsysteminacost-effectivemannerwithout jeopardizingqualityofcareandservice.Maybeinvolvedinmanagementofcritical pathwayandcasemanagementacrossthecontinuumofcareasindicated.

  • Assists others as necessary, using time constructively.Participates as a team member in providing health care interacting with colleagues to provide comprehensive care as a responsible professional.

  • Documents in the medical record according to policy/procedure.Maintainsaccurate,legible, andconfidentialrecords.Complies with incident reporting and notification requirements.

  • Applyorganizationalpolicies,regulations,andproceduresinthe administrationofpatientcare.

  • Intermittent holiday, evening and weekend coverage of infusion center/urgent care/outpatient clinics and inpatients may be needed.

Onsite - this role is expected to work onsite.The physical locations are in Lone Tree, CO.

Qualifications:

Minimum Qualifications:

Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

  • Master's Degree in Nursing and/or a graduate of an Accredited Physician Assistant School is required.

  • Current license to practice as an Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant with prescriptive privileges in Colorado.

  • Meets and maintains the requirements of the nursing requirements of the nursing credential review board for the advance practice nurse.

  • Certified as a Nurse Practitioner/or as a Physician Assistant by a national professional organization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Preferred three years’ oncology skillset and experience as a clinical Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant.

  • Clinical experience with oncology and/or cancer clinical trials patients is a plus.

Anticipated Pay Range:

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:

$110,000 to $130,000
