The Department of Pediatrics, Section of Allergy & Immunology, is
seeking a Pediatric Allergist/Immunologist Advanced Practice
Provider to provide oversight and medical management of
children with allergic and immunologic diseases in both inpatient
and outpatient settings, and to participate in the education of
students and residents in accordance with the mission of the
University of Colorado School of Medicine's Department of
Pediatrics.
Key Responsibilities:
·Provide oversight and care of patients with asthma, food allergy, allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis, atopic dermatitis, drug allergy, animal dander sensitivity, insect sting allergy, urticaria, angioedema, and anaphylaxis in outpatient settings
·Serve in the Challenge and Research Unit by providing oversight and monitoring both clinical and research patients with food challenges, drug challenges, and food allergen immunotherapy
·Participate in the teaching of fellows and residents assigned to the clinic and service rotations

Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, CO.

Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
This is an open rank position and could be categorized as Instructor or Senior Instructor on experience and qualifications as indicated below:
Instructor:
●Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (C-PNP), Certified Family
●Nurse Practitioner (C-FNP), Certified Nurse Practitioner (C-NP),
●Physician Assistant Certified (PA-C), or comparable
●Licensure in the State of Colorado
●0 – 5 years of experience as an APP
●Prescriptive authority or eligible for certification
Sr. Instructor:
●Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (C-PNP), Certified Family
●Nurse Practitioner (C-FNP), Certified Nurse Practitioner (C-NP),
●Physician Assistant Certified (PA-C), or comparable
●Licensure in the State of Colorado
●At least 6 years or greater experience as an APP
●Prescriptive authority or eligible for certification
Condition of Employment:
·Must successfully pass a drug test through Children’s Hospital Colorado
·Must be willing and able to pass a national criminal background check

Preferred Qualifications:
●Prior experience working with patients with food challenges
●Prior experience in performing drug challenges
●Prior experience in teaching medical students and residents
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
●Knowledge and ability to provide expert oversight and medical
management of children with complex allergic and immunologic
diseases who often have other significant medical issues
●Ability to teach and mentor others
●Knowledge of academic medical institutions
●Strong interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
●Commitment to Patient Safety, Quality Care, Communication,
and Customer Service
●Ability to collaborate with physicians, physician assistants, and
nurses to form a high performing medical team
●Ability to work within cross-cultural and cross-populations

Anticipated Pay Range:
The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as HIRING RANGE:
Instructor: $103,000 to $113,000
Sr. Instructor: $115,000 to $134,000
The above hiring range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. This position is not eligible for overtime compensation unless it is non-exempt.
