The Advanced Practice Practitioner works as part of the Hunt Regional provider team, performing a variety of direct patient services including assessment, diagnosis, implementation of treatment, evaluation, monitoring of the general patient management plan, and chronic care. The Advanced Practice Practitioner performs these functions under the general supervision of a licensed physician in the Hunt Regional Healthcare system. Services may be performed at any of the Hunt Regional Healthcare locations.

- Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant students, as requested
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
- Graduate from an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistance program.
- Credentialed by Medical Staff.
- Minimum Work Experience
- Required Licenses/Certifications
- Must have a current and unrestricted Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistance license.
- Must have or be eligible to have a Texas Pharmacy and DEA License.
- BLS and ACLS
- DOT Examiner Certification within 90 days of hire

- Ability to competently use Microsoft Office, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and appropriate practice management software.
- Preferred Qualification
- Prior Urgent Care or Emergency Department experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
- Must work varied hours to meet the demands of the position. May be exposed to communicable diseases. May be exposed to combative and irrational patients. Is required to read paper and electronic medical records. Is required to key information using a computer monitor and keyboard. Works will be primarily performed in an office. Due to the nature of hospital services, it may become necessary to work extended hours or other variations of the usual shift or schedule to ensure adequate care of patients and to maintain service to the community.

JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS

- Orders and interprets diagnostic and therapeutic tests related to patient diagnosis.
- Prescribes appropriate pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic treatment.
- Prescribes medications under the delegation of the supervising physician, based on Texas Medical Board requirements and according to standard and published therapeutic goals then explains treatment to patients and families.
- Provides appropriate counseling, education, and support for patients or arranges provisions by other professionals.
- Facilitates the patient's transition within and between health care settings.
- Collaborates with multidisciplinary team members by appropriate communications and referrals to ensure patient needs are met.
- Consults with physicians and other members of the health care team, as n ecessary.
- Establishes, implements, revises, and manages the patient's care plan addressing the physical, mental, cognitive, psychosocial, functional and environmental needs of the patient
