Job Description

Responsible for the development, implementation, validation, and commissioning of automation software for manufacturing and special machine projects. Acts as the technical owner of software deliverables while supporting project coordination activities, ensuring compliance with customer requirements, engineering standards, quality processes, and project milestones.

Key Responsibilities

Software Development & Programming (70%)

  • Develop, test, debug, and maintain PLC and automation software according to project specifications and Bosch standards.
  • Participate in concept reviews, electrical design reviews, and definition of automation solutions.
  • Define I/O structures, communication interfaces, machine sequences, and software architectures.
  • Perform software validation, functional testing, commissioning, startup, and troubleshooting activities.
  • Support machine acceptance, pre-acceptance, and customer buy-off activities.
  • Manage software version control, backups, and project documentation.
  • Support MES integrations, communication networks, and digital manufacturing solutions when applicable.
  • Track and resolve software-related issues and open points throughout the project lifecycle.

Project & Technical Coordination (30%)

  • Support software effort estimation during quotation and project planning phases.
  • Serve as the primary technical contact for software-related activities within assigned projects.
  • Coordinate internal and external programming resources according to project needs.
  • Participate in project meetings, risk assessments, quality reviews, and escalation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity, OSS, safety, and quality requirements.
  • Collaborate with Mechanical, Electrical, Process Engineering, Project Management, and customer teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Contribute to standardization, lessons learned, continuous improvement initiatives, and software best practices.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechatronics, Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Robotics, or related field.

Technical Skills

  • PLC Programming Siemens (Allen-Bradley, Beckhoff, or similar platforms is a plus).
  • Industrial automation systems and machine control concepts.
  • HMI and SCADA development.
  • Industrial communication protocols (Profinet, Ethernet/IP, OPC-UA, Modbus, etc.).
  • Electrical schematics interpretation.
  • Software troubleshooting and commissioning.
  • Version control and software documentation practices.
  • Knowledge of MES integration and Industry 4.0 concepts is a plus.

Professional Skills

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Project coordination and stakeholder management.
  • Ability to work in cross-functional and international teams.
  • Effective communication and technical documentation skills.
  • Customer-oriented mindset and willingness to support commissioning activities.

Experience

  • 3+ years of experience in industrial automation and PLC programming.
  • Experience in machine commissioning and manufacturing environments.
  • Experience coordinating software activities or technical work packages is desirable.
