Job Description

The Advanced Planning Specialist plays a key role in strengthening planning excellence across BD Rowa by enhancing supply visibility, optimizing planning parameters, and expanding the effective use of Kinaxis for short-, mid- & long-term planning. The role supports proactive decision-making through data-driven insights, scenario analysis, and continuous improvement of planning processes, enabling a resilient and efficient end-to-end value chain of the Rowa business.

Production and Material Planning

  • Execute mid-term and long-term material and production planning.
  • Monitor production capacities, material availability, and inventory levels.
  • Identify potential supply constraints and coordinate appropriate mitigation actions with Procurement and Operations.
  • Prepare planning analyses, forecasts, and performance reports.

Inventory & Planning Parameter Management

  • Analyze safety stock settings, lot sizes, lead times, and other key planning parameters.
  • Develop optimization proposals to improve service levels, inventory performance, and supply reliability.
  • Support the implementation and adherence to defined planning standards and best practices.

Kinaxis Key User

  • Act as the primary point of contact for Kinaxis users at the site.
  • Support system testing, enhancements, and rollout activities.
  • Deliver user training and maintain process and system documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve the effectiveness and utilization of the planning system.
  • Ensure high standards of data integrity and process quality.

IBP Support

  • Support the preparation and coordination of Integrated Business Planning (IBP) meetings.
  • Generate relevant KPIs, reports, and planning analyses to support decision-making.
  • Prepare decision-support materials and management presentations.
  • Track and follow up on agreed actions and planning measures.

Your Profile:

Education

Required: Bachelor's degree in supply chain management, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or Business Administration

Preferred: Master's degree in supply chain / Operations or MBA with supply chain focus

Main Requirements

  • Production & Material Planning (MRP/MPS)
  • Inventory parameter management (safety stock, lot size, lead time)
  • S&OP / IBP process support
  • Cross-functional collaboration (Procurement, Operations)

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in manufacturing / industrial / life sciences environment
  • Involvement in Kinaxis system rollout, testing, or training delivery
  • Exposure to ERP systems (SAP MM/PP or equivalent)
  • Kinaxis Rapid Response (Key User or Author level)

Soft Skills

  • Structured analytical thinking and problem-solving
  • Strong communication — able to bridge technical and business stakeholders
  • Training & facilitation capability (key user role requirement)
  • Proactivity in identifying and escalating supply risks
  • High attention to detail and process discipline
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in German and English
