We are looking for a full-time Advanced Planning Associate that will play a vital role in supporting our business goals and overall vision. Summary:
The Advanced Planning Associate plays a key role in supporting the delivery of comprehensive wealth planning services to clients and families with complex financial needs. Working closely with the Head of Wealth Preservation Services, Director of Planning, Client Advisors and other advisory professionals, this position assists with financial analysis, planning strategy development, client deliverables, and planning workflow management. The role requires a strong blend of technical expertise, analytical thinking, organization, and attention to detail while helping ensure an exceptional, personalized client experience.
Key Roles/Responsibilities:
- Support the delivery of comprehensive planning strategies and advisory services for clients, families, and prospective clients with complex financial planning needs.
- Coordinate the client experience, ensuring timely execution of planning activities, follow-up actions, and relationship management initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and complete client financial and relationship data across Oakworth systems.
- Assist in the preparation of estate and financial planning analyses, presentations, and client deliverables.
- Develop and enhance workflows and procedures to improve planning efficiency, consistency, and service delivery.
Responsibility Details:
- Support client relationships by maintaining accurate client information, coordinating meeting preparation and follow-up activities, tracking action items, and helping deliver a seamless, high-touch client experience.
- Maintain consistent communication with the Head of Wealth Preservation Services, Director of Planning, Client Advisors, and other members of the advisory team regarding client priorities, planning needs, and ongoing service activities.
- Assist with estate and financial planning and analysis by gathering and organizing client information, conducting research, and supporting the development of customized planning recommendations and client deliverables.
- Prepare financial analyses, reports, planning scenarios, presentations, and other client-facing materials related to cash flow planning, estate planning, tax planning, executive compensation, concentrated stock positions, liquidity events, and multi-generational wealth planning strategies.
- Support client requests for planning analyses, reports, and special projects; assist clients with planning-related technology platforms and portals; and ensure planning software integrations and client data remain current and accurate.
- Coordinate planning workflows and service activities to ensure timely completion of deliverables, effective execution of planning engagements, and consistent alignment with Oakworth’s client service model.
- Identify opportunities to enhance processes, workflows, and operational efficiency while partnering with colleagues across the organization to improve service delivery and support exceptional client outcomes.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Financial Planning, Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; advanced degree such as Juris Doctor, Masters of Accounting, or related degree preferred.
- CFP, CPA, or JD preferred.
- Three to five years of experience in legal services, financial services, wealth management, family office, private banking, accounting or financial planning preferred.
- Experience supporting estate planning and in particular experience planning with closely held businesses a plus.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Exceptional attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities with minimal supervision.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- High degree of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential client matters.
