As an Advanced Patient Service Specialist, responsibilities extend to mentoring and training other patient service specialists, as well as leading daily huddles to identify and implement operational improvements. This role is instrumental in identifying process enhancements within patient service workflows and collaborating with pre-certification teams to ensure alignment with the latest technologies and payer requirements. Keeping abreast of new developments in the field, you'll play a pivotal role in communicating changes and fostering a cohesive environment within the department.

Minimum Qualifications:
Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent.
Skills, Knowledge Abilities:
• Proficiency in computers, typing and Microsoft Office. Most possess excellent customer service skills with strong oral and written communication skills. Must have the ability to interact with customers of all ages in a tactful and pleasant manner. Knowledge of medical terminology.
• Knowledgeable in practices involving patient scheduling/pre-authorization/pre-certification/referral process and coordination of other services related to insurance verification.
• Basic knowledge of self-pay collections, medical terminology, ICD10, and/or a functional understanding of insurance is preferred.
• Requires excellent verbal communication skills, and the ability to work in a complex environment with varying points of view.
• Must be comfortable with ambiguity, exhibit good decision making and judgment capabilities, attention to detail.
• Ability to prioritize work and handle a variety of tasks simultaneously.
• Must possess excellent interpersonal skills and can interact on a professional level with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience:
• 2 years combined experience in prior authorization and scheduling.
Skills, Knowledge Abilities:
• Knowledge of and experience using an Epic RC/EMR system is preferred.
Physical Requirements:
• Position requires the ability to push, pull, and/or lift 50 lbs. on a regular basis.
• Position requires prolonged standing and walking during each shift.
• Position requires the ability to grip, reach, bend, kneel, twist, and squat to perform duties.
