Job Description Summary

GE Vernova Hitachi is expanding its Advanced Nuclear market development capability to identify and progress early-stage opportunities across priority regions and countries.

The Advanced Nuclear Market Development (ANMD) Region Leader will be accountable for developing a long-term pipeline of opportunities for revenue and profitability by identifying and cultivating interest in GE Vernova Hitachi’s BWRX-300 Small Modular Reactor (SMR) across Europe and potentially the Middle East.

The ANMD Region Leader will be directly responsible for opportunity origination and the development of winning strategies through to handover to the Sales team for contract development and closure.

The ANMD Region Leader will also serve as the GE Vernova Hitachi Account Manager for a Key Partner that intends to build a fleet of BWRX-300 reactors in Poland and develop further opportunities within designated European countries. In this capacity, the ANMD Region Leader will retain responsibility for progressing opportunities in Poland through contract development and closure.

Job Description

Essential Responsibilities

  • Create strategic market development plans for the region by evaluating, analysing, prioritising and communicating opportunities across relevant countries that could be converted into BWRX-300 SMR commitments by the Sales team, supporting long-term revenue and profitability.
  • Organise cross-functional teams to implement regional market development plans, ensuring that relevant team members are trained in BWRX-300 technology, projects and commercial offerings.
  • Work collaboratively with customers and partners to define their needs, create potential projects, determine appropriate commercial models, outline high-level project plans and schedules, identify potential financing options, and undertake other activities necessary to develop opportunities.
  • Cooperate closely with the relevant GE Vernova Hitachi commercial, product, project, engineering and licensing teams, as well as GE Vernova’s European—and potentially Middle Eastern—leadership, government relations and commercial teams, to support opportunity development.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and lead opportunities through GE Vernova Hitachi’s governance processes, obtaining the necessary management approvals to progress opportunities with specific countries and customers.
  • Ensure that partners understand GE Vernova Hitachi’s governance process at an appropriate level, enabling them to integrate and communicate their activities effectively.
  • Create and cultivate relationships at all levels within customers, partners and governments to build trust, establish a foundation for leadership meetings, gather market intelligence to inform strategy, and resolve or escalate issues as required.
  • Create and maintain an accurate sales funnel and pipeline within the Customer Relationship Management system, such as Salesforce, participate in sales-forecasting meetings, and deliver against assigned annual targets.
  • Advance opportunities through customer meetings, presentations and responses to Requests for Information until it is agreed that they are ready to transition effectively to the Sales team for further development, proposal submission and contract finalisation.
  • For the Key Partner, serve as the GE Vernova Hitachi Account Manager responsible for managing the day-to-day commercial relationship and European account strategy. This will include driving, negotiating and closing contracts to meet assigned commitments and convertible targets. Opportunities in Poland will remain with this role through contract closure rather than transferring to the Sales team.
  • Plan and deliver BWRX-300 symposiums within the region, speak at industry events and conferences, and support the wider promotion and marketing of the BWRX-300.
  • Participate in GE Vernova regional councils and keep GE Vernova Hitachi and regional GE Vernova leadership informed of strategic market intelligence concerning governments, customers, partners and competitors through regular and ad hoc meetings.
  • Working closely with GE Vernova’s local teams, establish a presence in new countries and plan any necessary support activities or contracts relating to consultants, partners, supply chain, government affairs, regulatory affairs, media, offices and meeting facilities.
  • Within the home country and wider region, serve as the GE Vernova Hitachi Advanced Nuclear commercial representative and office lead, engaging with GE Vernova colleagues, customers and partners and supporting the effective operation of the country, region and office.
