WHAT WE DO
Founded in 2007, Growth Acceleration Partners (GAP) is a consulting and technology services company. We consult, design, build and modernize revenue-generating software and data engineering solutions for clients. With modernization services and AI tools, we help businesses achieve a competitive advantage through technology. GAP’s remote, integrated engineering teams use end-to-end solutions to innovate and align with your business goals. We have 600+ English-speaking engineers based in Latin America and approximately 20 U.S.-based engineers. With some of the highest customer satisfaction scores in the industry, GAP’s focus is customer and employee success.
GAP is a woman-owned company headquartered in Austin Texas. We are a values-based company focused on growing our people by investing in education, onsite English classes and training in the latest technologies, including AI, data analytics and machine learning. Our goal is to provide solutions for our customers that help them achieve critical business outcomes, while enabling our GAPSters and our communities to attain long-term success.
We are seeking an Advanced .Net Software Engineer to join the Data Import product team responsible for building the core cloud-backed systems that help TaxAct and Taxwell users seamlessly import tax documents and financial data. This is a product-engineering role focused on feature delivery, event-driven processing, and intelligent document extraction workflows. The ideal candidate is an expert in modern C#/.NET and AWS serverless infrastructures who can trace a problem end-to-end—following it through Web APIs, SQS messages, S3 objects, and system logs. Additionally, this role embraces a modern engineering lifecycle, actively utilizing agentic AI tools like Claude Code to accelerate implementation, debugging, and code discovery.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related technical field (or an equivalent combination of education and production-grade work experience).
3+ years of professional experience building, supporting, and troubleshooting production application features, APIs, and event-driven backend services. (5+ years of experience with clear hands-on ownership of production serverless architectures required for Senior calibration).
Proven production experience writing clean, testable, and maintainable C# code in distributed environments.
Direct experience handling asynchronous processing patterns, file ingestion pipelines, and multi-service cloud integrations.
Experience working inside Agile product teams (Azure DevOps, Scrum, Kanban) with a strong focus on feature ownership rather than pure infrastructure support.
Build, maintain, and optimize .NET APIs, AWS Lambda handlers, shared SDKs, and internal client packages that drive document ingestion and data extraction flows.
Own event-driven processing microservices involving high-frequency uploaded files, S3 object references, SQS queue messages, and data state transitions.
Enhance and optimize Intelligent Document Processing (IDP) systems including OCR, document classification, form mapping, and data extraction for tax forms (W-2, 1099, 1040, etc.).
Debug high-severity production incidents across application code, environment configurations, DynamoDB records, and external AI/OCR dependencies using Splunk and CloudWatch.
Design, enhance, and manage internal configuration and diagnostics tooling built on Blazor Server and MudBlazor.
Write focused automated unit, integration, and regression tests ensuring robust path coverage for both normal and failure conditions.
Integrate AI-assisted and agentic development workflows responsibly into daily tasks to accelerate codebase exploration, refactoring, and technical documentation.
Languages & Core Frameworks: Advanced C# proficiency across .NET 8 and .NET 10, ASP.NET Core Web APIs, and Minimal APIs.
AWS Serverless Ecosystem: Hands-on integration with AWS Lambda, S3, DynamoDB (modeling/querying), SQS (including SQS large messages), SNS, Systems Manager Parameter Store, Secrets Manager, Cognito, and IAM policies. (Transferable serverless experience with Azure Functions/Cosmos DB or GCP Cloud Run/PubSub is acceptable if backed by elite product engineering fundamentals) .
AI-Assisted Tools: Mastery of agentic coding workflows and developer tools, specifically Claude Code, Cursor, or OpenAI Codex
Testing Frameworks: Experience with xUnit, Mocking libraries (Moq/NSubstitute), Playwright, and test-data fixtures.
Observability & Diagnostics: Production troubleshooting using Splunk, CloudWatch, structured logging, and metrics analysis.
CI/CD & Local Dev: Azure DevOps pipelines, Git, Docker containerization, and local cloud-service orchestration (LocalStack or similar).
Direct experience with Document Intelligence and AI Extraction platforms (e.g., Azure Document Intelligence, AWS Textract, Amazon Bedrock, or SageMaker-adjacent services).
Prior background handling highly sensitive customer information, protected financial records, tax data, or operating within heavily regulated compliance frameworks.
Practical experience working with Blazor Server, MudBlazor, or integrating backend services with frontend JavaScript/TypeScript UI frameworks.
Infrastructure as Code (IaC) exposure (Terraform, CloudFormation, AWS CDK) as a supplement to feature engineering.
Experience designing and implementing feature flags, gradual canary rollouts, and environment-specific configuration management.
Advanced English proficiency with clear written and verbal technical communication skills (essential for PR reviews, incident runbooks, and cross-team alignment).
A strict production-support mindset featuring high ownership, triage capabilities, rollback thinking, and excellent escalation judgment.
Pragmatic product engineering mindset: prefers targeted fixes, safety layers, and phased migrations over defaulting to high-risk rewrites.
Strong critical evaluation skills—the ability to rigorously review, test, and validate AI-generated code and documentation for security and performance before pushing to production.
