The Technical Project Manager will provide leadership and direction for the development and documentation related to manufacturing readiness for new product and operational programs. This role will be responsible for managing program development in a matrixed organization to meet program objectives including schedules, budgets, communication, and issue management. The position is an integral part of the Advanced Manufacturing team that reports through the Assistant General Manager of Operations. The successful candidate will join a team of highly performing professionals who pride themselves in developing innovative processes, setting industry standards for quality, and providing cost-effective designs. Job Function / Responsibilities

  • Provide project management leadership for Advanced Manufacturing in support of new product development and operational projects.
  • Coordinate program activities across multiple PACCAR divisions and departments.
  • Lead activities to identify PACCAR factory requirements for new vehicle programs. This includes, but is not limited to, budget requirements, brick and mortar changes, validation equipment, training, logistics packaging, product flow, and infrastructure development.
  • Coordinate manufacturing scope requests and obtain approval.
  • Develop and manage assigned program budgets, action trackers, and schedules.
  • Deliver assigned programs on time, on budget, while meeting program objectives. Maintain assigned programs in the appropriate tollgate phase.
  • Effectively communicate up, down, and across the organization, including to senior management, escalating issues as needed.
  • Track and report critical metrics (readiness, defects, documentation, communication).
  • Prepare and deliver program presentations.
  • Communicate pertinent information to affected PACCAR factories. Coordinate plant input and feedback

Qualifications / Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering is required. MS/MBA degree preferred.
  • Minimum 5-7+ years’ experience with increasing responsibility in project development or related functions with demonstrated leadership success required.
  • Experience successfully managing stage-gate projects within matrixed organizations spanning multiple locations and countries.
  • Technical aptitude and ability to succinctly communicate complicated topics. Strong written and verbal communication.
  • Demonstrated ability to:
    • Develop and deliver effective presentations, including those for senior management.
    • Influence without direct authority.
    • Manage multiple tasks, take initiative, be a strong team player and a problem-solver.
    • Perform in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment and manage multiple projects.
  • Preferred experience:
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Project, SharePoint, Teams, and Data Visualization Software.
    • Six Sigma training.
    • Commercial truck product knowledge.
    • Working with or in production environments
  • PMP or PgMP certification preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 15% annually, occasionally on short notice

The salary range for the Advanced Manufacturing - Technical Project Manager is $100,100 to $156,600 annually. This position is also eligible for a holiday gift.
