Trane Key Accounts is growing our Advanced Manufacturing organization and is seeking highly skilled Project Managers! The remote Advanced Manufacturing Project Manager will manage all aspects of multi-million-dollar cooling solution projects for key strategic customer accounts. They will have direct responsibility for delivering a strong customer experience in a complex construction process. This role will lead a multi-function project team through all facets of the project and is the established point of contact for all project stakeholders. Assigned project scope is expected to be primarily Equipment furnished to owners and contractors though may also include Services and Contracting support.
Responsibilities:
- Understands customer project requirements and expectations. Aligns project delivery to customer needs, performs regular risk management of the project, and needed risk mitigation.
- Act as member of customer solutions team with full awareness and implementation of overall customer account strategy as a partner to the Account Managers.
- Validate project scope, cost, schedule by reviewing contract documents, attending pre-bid validation meetings, holding internal meetings, and establishing customer expectations.
- Maintain customer satisfaction by supporting company initiatives, building customer relationships, investigating concerns, implementing corrective actions, and developing communication plans with both internal and external stakeholders to provide timely project updates.
- Responsible for the administration, implementation, and management of assigned projects including the projects’ scope of work, schedule, communication, and budget.
- Responsible for the optimization/validation of the equipment to include selection of size, configuration, voltage, options, etc. of the HVAC equipment by reviewing the plans, specifications, original estimate, and proposal.
- Conducts customer kick off meeting virtually or in person as appropriate for the involved parties, conducts internal project reviews at regular intervals and attends all required customer project meetings.
- Create a manage the project-specific production and labor schedule. Communicate regularly with the manufacturing team to minimize any risk to shipment dates and ensure on time delivery. Includes Trane manufactured and all other equipment included in the projects. Ensure local labor readiness plan for excellence in on-site startup, commissioning and integrated systems testing.
- Create and manage aggregated customer project schedules spanning multiple phases, multiple geographic locations, many product types, and other global regions where applicable.
- Responsible for change order management by identifying opportunities, recommending solutions, facilitating quotes, utilizes pricing strategies, and closing orders providing total solutions across business streams.
- Utilizes properly qualified subcontractors, oversees subcontractor RFQ process, awards subcontracts, manages subcontractor execution, collaborate with subcontractors to establish communication guidelines for project progress, project meetings, billing expectations, project safety and foster professional relationships with subcontractors.
- Financially manages all aspects of projects including cash flow, monthly forecasted cost / revenue, forecasted cost at completion, monitoring expenses, collections support, applied cost, buy-out plans, knowledgeable on financial impacts when adjusting cost categories, and oversees preparation and communications for monthly backlog review with leaders.
- Create and maintain project schedules generating task, dependencies, milestones, critical path, resource assignments, identify future looking planning needs and resource constraints, communication of project progress.
- Plan and execute successful end-to-end Commissioning processes to satisfy contract and customer project requirements.
- Conduct critical spare parts analysis with the customer and internal parts organization. Create and communicate plans for critical spare parts continuity.
- Leads all aspects of project administration including, responsibility for knowledge of and adherence to contract penalty clauses and / or liquidated damages, analyzing reporting to identify project deficiencies and provides guidance on corrective actions, managing projects to business compliance, project documentation, safety guidelines, and maneuvering through governing agencies requirements including the state, city, county, federal and local level.
- Responsible for project post-installation customer satisfaction during the warranty period as well as the handoff package and process to the appropriate service team. Includes management of all claims and concessions.
- Lead project postmortem reviews inclusive of each component of the project delivery including lessons learned.
- Pursues technical and industry knowledge, eagerly coaches across the organization.
- Flexibility to work outside normal work hours/weekends, and travel to jobsite as required with occasional travel.
Qualifications:
- HVAC, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering or Construction Project Management Degree preferred.
- Project Schedules / PM Construction Software, High Tech projects experience preferred.
- Combination of degree or 7-10 years’ experience in relevant industry roles.
- Applied HVAC and chiller technical experience highly desirable.
- Knowledgeable on construction systems and technologies.
- Must demonstrate strong leadership skills, ability to mentor other project managers, aptitude to influence without authority, organizational expertise, strong verbal and written communication skills, and ability to successfully lead a project team.

$84,740.00 - $137,200.00
