Where is the work:

On-Site (5 days)

The Advanced Manufacturing Engineering Leader will be responsible for leading the advanced manufacturing engineering strategy and transformation for the business across a multi-site manufacturing footprint, supporting both new product introductions and ongoing product enhancement initiatives. This leader will coach and develop a team of manufacturing engineering professionals and subject matter experts while working closely with plant leadership, quality, operations, and cross-functional partners to strengthen manufacturing systems, improve operational capability, and deliver strategic business results.

This position has flexibility to be located at one of our multiple North-America manufacturing sites or headquarters in Davidson, NC. Preferred locations are Davidson, NC, Bloomington, MN, Greenville, SC, Hastings, NE, Arecibo, PR, Noblesville, IN, Fremont, Ohio or York, PA

***This role requires travel up to 50–75% of the time.***

Core Job Responsibilities Include (But are Not Limited To):

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of manufacturing engineering professionals and subject matter experts to build organizational capability and deliver strategic business results.
• Lead a team of AMEs in support of a multi-site manufacturing footprint supporting a business with over $1B in annual revenue
• Develop and define concepts and manufacturing processes for, and as an integral part of, all new product introductions and product enhancement programs, using advanced engineering techniques such as DFM / DFA (Design for Manufacturability and Assembly), FMEA, 3P (Production, Preparation Process), 7-Ways, and Lean principles.
• Evaluate and implement innovative, cost effective, safe, manufacturing processes and techniques, which will improve the effectiveness of the manufacturing operations and business systems. These processes include welding, brazing, automation, coating, conveyance, refrigerant vacuum and charging, and general assembly.
• Develop manufacturing planning, initial tooling requirements and costs, capability requirements, control plans, and assessments, which facilitate the definition and specification of the manufacturing processes. Provide Capital equipment project governance across multiple manufacturing facilities
• Provide technical expertise and leadership for the timely resolution of manufacturing process and product design problems. Serve as a resource for cause / effect analyses, investigations, statistical studies, and corrective action planning.
• Develop and implement manufacturing flows, workstation layouts and organization, and station controls, which optimize value added operations, operating costs, and product / process quality.
• Collaborate closely with various functional team members while enhancing design for manufacturability and ease of integration to manufacturing facility. Support the plant manufacturing, quality engineers along with operations in implementing and optimizing daily management systems
• Project management knowledge and skills. Estimates the time and resources required to complete a project for self and cross-functional partners. Maintains and uses lines of communication with other areas to keep project on track. Utilizes common project management tools to track progress (Gantt charts, matrix, maps).
• Support Long Range Planning for the business to meet our customer and business objectives
• Establish best practice and benchmarking management systems across AME/ME and other functions as appropriate
• Lead the deployment and maturity path of Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) across the sites to improve the OEE% of the manufacturing equipment
• Support Tooling Asset Management System maturity including both company and supplier owned tooling to assess and mitigate supply risks.

Education and/or Experience Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree required (Engineering or Industrial discipline) and at least 10 years of manufacturing work experience required.
• Experience within an industrial environment preferred.

Required Skills:

• New product launch and project management experience.
• Knowledge of advanced quality and design for assembly and mfg. techniques.
• Knowledge of life cycle cost analysis, dimensional capability analysis, and capacity analysis.
• Knowledge of Total Productive Maintenance industry best practices
• Experience with the full life cycle of capital equipment and tooling projects
• Experience with multi-site mfg. operations
• Experience developing team members in technical and soft skills
• Basic computer skills
• Experience speaking in front of Sr. Leaders and Executives

Preferred Skills:

• Automation, welding, brazing process, wastewater treatment, coating, refrigerant management & assembly experience.

Annual Base Salary Range or Hourly Base Pay Range:

$163,000.00 - $268,730.00
