We are seeking a proactive Electrical Engineer to join our Consumer Goods product development team, with a focus on hardware engineering, specifically for wire harness design and routing applications. In this role, you will support the development of consumer goods products, ensuring they meet manufacturing, safety, quality, cost, and marketing objectives. Your responsibilities will include preparing drawings, releasing Bills of Materials (BOMs) and technical data, and adhering to BSH engineering guidelines throughout the product lifecycle. You will act as a functional expert on product hardware systems, providing support to the team in this critical domain

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain wire harnesses, schematics, and 2D drawings for components, systems, sub-modules, modules, and appliances in accordance with the BSH product development process.
  • Define functional electrical requirements for components, including connectors, terminals, switches, etc.
  • Act as an interface for hardware (electronics) technical clarification with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Instruct personnel on the proper installation and connection of electrical components.
  • Support project acquisition, cost estimation, topology, and concept definition (if applicable).
  • Manage Engineering Change Requests (ECRs) with customers and value streams.
  • Create and manage risk assessments.
  • Assist leaders with analytic problem-solving skills, including knowledge of 8D, Six Sigma, DOE, or similar disciplines.
  • Support the team by specifying testing parameters, managing execution, and compiling documentation to validate customer requirements.
  • Provide technical coaching to team members.
  • Collaborate with Product Management, Quality, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Suppliers, and the Mechanical core team to transform customer requirements into product realization.
  • Perform GD&T and 2D/3D stack-up analysis as needed.
  • Knowledge or experience in cooking products is an added advantage.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.
  • Strong proficiency in Teamenter and NX-CAD software.
  • Demonstrated expertise in creating wire harnesses, schematics, and 2D drawings.
  • Knowledge of wire harness routing best practices, packaging constraints, and installation considerations.
  • Experience with JIRA for dashboard-driven agile task management.
  • System-level understanding of consumer goods.
