Role Purpose

What is your role?

As an Advanced Engineering Manager, you will lead a highly technical engineering team responsible for the characterization, development, and optimization of manufacturing processes that support new product launches. You will leverage data-driven analysis, scientific principles, and cross-functional collaboration to improve process performance, product quality, and manufacturing capability while driving innovation across global organizations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead, influence and collaborative across global and multidisciplinary teams
  • Establish comprehensive process maps that define inputs, outputs, and critical process parameters.
  • Drive the identification of process limitations and optimization opportunities through data-driven analysis.
  • Lead process characterization, validation, and capability assessments to establish robust operating windows.
  • Define and co-lead the deployment of optimized manufacturing processes across development and production environments.
  • Champion knowledge transfer and technical alignment across NPI, Product Engineering, and Process Engineering organizations.
  • Develop, document, and institutionalize fundamental process understanding to support long-term process control, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Materials Science, Physics, Optics, Electronics, or a related technical field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment focused on technical problem solving.
  • Proven experience leading technical teams and influencing engineering organizations across multiple locations.
  • Strong background in process development, process characterization, product development, and manufacturing optimization.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complex technical problems using statistical analysis, numerical modeling, and first-principles engineering.
  • Excellent project management skills with experience leading multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent English, both written and verbal.

Experiences/Education - Desired

  • Experience supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) programs.
  • Knowledge of optical communications products, manufacturing technologies, and operations.
  • Experience working within global and matrixed organizations.
  • Ability to influence technical direction and drive alignment across geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong intellectual curiosity and passion for innovation, continuous learning, and technical excellence.
