What you'll be doing
Negotiate with suppliers to secure the best possible pricing, delivery terms, and quality for direct materials
Monitor and manage supplier performance to maintain high standards and on-time delivery
Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production and logistics, to optimize inventory levels and minimize supply chain disruptions
Conduct market research and analysis to identify new and alternative suppliers, and to stay informed on industry trends and pricing
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to foster a collaborative and mutually beneficial partnership
Assist in the implementation of procurement strategies and policies to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness
Provide regular reports and updates on procurement activities and performance to management
What we're looking for
Minimum 5 years of experience in a direct material procurement or operations role, preferably within the manufacturing industry
Strong negotiation and supplier management skills, with the ability to build and maintain long-term relationships
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and implement cost-saving opportunities
Proficient in using procurement software and ERP systems
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a cross-functional team environment
Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or a related field
