Pay Range:
$55,600.00 - $91,450.00
The Advanced Buyer manages purchasing activities with increased independence and complexity, supporting supply continuity across assigned materials and suppliers. This role exercises judgment within defined practices to address supply challenges, manage inventory levels, and coordinate across functions. The Advanced Buyer works on problems of moderate scope and builds productive relationships across multiple departments. A strong understanding of production planning principles and specialized knowledge in sourcing sensitive materials such as human blood products is essential to effectively align procurement activities with manufacturing schedules and regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and execute procurement activities to support production, inventory health, and service objectives
Collaborate closely with production planning teams to synchronize purchasing with manufacturing schedules, capacity, and demand forecasts
Source critical and sensitive materials, including human blood products, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and quality standards
Place and manage purchase orders, monitor supplier performance, and follow up on delays or issues
Analyze inventory levels, demand, lead times, production plans, and human blood product availability to support replenishment decisions and optimize supply continuity
Generate human blood units assignment based on product and manufacturing needs by analyzing screening data to ensure optimal utilization and compliance
• Maintain accurate purchasing and inventory data in the ERP system in compliance with SOPs
Communicate supply status, risks, constraints, and potential impacts on production and sourcing of sensitive materials to internal partners
Collaborate with manufacturing, planning, suppliers, and specialized vendors involved in human blood sourcing to resolve supply challenges and adjust plans as needed
Support continuous improvement efforts within purchasing, production planning, inventory management, and sourcing processes
Utilize tools such as Power BI, SmartSheets, and Microsoft Excel to analyze data, generate reports, and support decision-making
Write and communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or related field, or equivalent experience
3-5 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, supply chain, production planning, manufacturing, or sourcing sensitive biological materials such as human blood
Experience working with ERP or MRP systems and integrating production planning data
Experience in ISO-regulated environments (ISO 9001 / ISO 13485) and compliance with regulations impacting human blood sourcing preferred
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of purchasing, inventory management, supply chain processes, production planning, and human blood sourcing regulations and logistics
Proficiency with data analysis and reporting tools including Power BI, SmartSheets, and advanced Microsoft Excel
Ability to generate human blood units assignment by analyzing screening data aligned to product and manufacturing requirements
Skills in analyzing inventory, production, supply data, and human blood product availability to support decision-making and align procurement with manufacturing and regulatory needs
Skills in problem-solving and issue resolution within defined procedures
Ability to prioritize work and manage multiple assignments
Ability to work independently on routine assignments and with guidance on complex issues
Ability to build productive working relationships across departments and with specialized suppliers
Ability to write and communicate clearly and effectively in English
Desired Certifications:
Certifications related to planning, procurement, or sourcing such as APICS Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP), Certified Professional in Supply Management (CPSM), or Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) are highly desirable
Working Conditions:
Onsite work in a standard business office and operations environment
No travel required
Ability to work hours that conform to core department operations
Physical Requirements:
Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods
