Job Description

  • Turn complex customer data into meaningful insights
  • Build your capability across advanced analytics and AI
  • Influence decisions across the Credit Cards business

See Yourself in the Team

The Credit Cards business is one of Australia's largest and most sophisticated consumer finance portfolios, serving millions of customers across every stage of their financial journey. At the centre of that business sits a highly influential Analytics & Insights team, partnering across Product, Marketing, Risk, Strategy and Technology to turn data into decisions that shape customer outcomes and business performance. Here, you'll join a team of talented analytics professionals responsible for solving complex commercial problems, uncovering growth opportunities and influencing strategic direction through evidence-based insights. From customer engagement and retention strategies through to portfolio optimisation, regulatory response and business performance measurement, your team's work helps determine where the business invests, how we engage customers, and how we continue to evolve one of the country's leading credit card portfolios.

Your Impact and Contribution

As part of the Credit Cards team, you’ll use data to uncover insights that help us better understand our customers, portfolio and business performance, supporting better decisions and outcomes. Working alongside experienced Advanced Analytics & Insights professionals, you’ll explore business questions, analyse customer and portfolio data and help identify opportunities to improve customer and commercial outcomes. You’ll develop your technical capability while gaining exposure to statistical analysis, predictive modelling, machine learning and emerging AI approaches. Working with colleagues across Product, Marketing, Risk, Strategy and Engineering, giving you the opportunity to see how analytics moves from an initial question through to insight, recommendation and business application. In summary, you may expect to:

  • Analyse customer, product and portfolio data to identify trends, patterns, opportunities and emerging insights.
  • Translate business questions into structured analytical approaches, with support from more experienced team members where needed.
  • Use statistical analysis and analytical techniques to investigate customer and business problems.
  • Prepare, manipulate and explore complex datasets using tools such as SQL, Python or R.
  • Build clear visualisations and communicate analytical findings in a way that is accessible to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Support customer segmentation, targeting and engagement analysis to improve relevance and personalisation.
  • Contribute to predictive modelling and machine-learning initiatives, developing your capability in applying these techniques to practical business problems.
  • Contribute to a culture of curiosity, experimentation, knowledge sharing and continuous learning.

Your Skills & Experience

You’re curious, analytical and interested in understanding why something is happening, not simply reporting what the data says. You enjoy working with data, solving problems and turning analysis into insights that people can understand and act on. To this role, you'll bring:

  • Experience in customer / consumer analytics, data science, decision science or a related discipline.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate data and draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Programming capability using SQL, Python or R, alongside the ability to create clear and meaningful data visualisations and communicate what the analysis is telling us.
  • An understanding of statistical analysis and measurement techniques and how they can be applied to business questions.
  • Exposure to predictive modelling, machine learning or other advanced analytical techniques.
  • Sound data and AI literacy, including an understanding of the importance of responsible use, data quality and appropriate analytical judgement.
  • Comfort navigating generative AI and how emerging technologies can support analytical work.
  • A commitment to customer outcomes, sound risk management and continuous learning.
