About the Role
The role will be responsible for performing accounting activities, providing guidance to team members, and working closely with the line manager to ensure smooth service delivery. Responsibilities include daily, weekly, and monthly journal entries, month-end closing, reporting, account reconciliations, and supporting compliance and audit activities.
What You Will Do
Collaborate with global teams across geographies and HARMAN businesses, working independently while following documented procedures and guiding junior team members.
Partner cross-functionally within and beyond GSSC, provide backup support to team members and the line manager, and ensure continuity of operations.
Support global General Ledger accounting activities, including revenue completeness and month-end and quarter-end close processes.
Prepare, post, and review standard and ad hoc journal entries (accruals, provisions, reserves, reclasses, recharges) and maintain GL master data in SAP.
Perform and review balance sheet account reconciliations, ensure timely resolution of open items, and provide monthly/quarterly balance sheet commentaries and tax packages.
Review journals, reconciliations, and recurring activities prepared by team members, ensuring adequate documentation and compliance with control requirements.
Ensure strong compliance by maintaining control documentation, supporting internal and external audits, and addressing audit requests with the line manager and team.
Drive ongoing process improvements and support projects and ad hoc requests.
What You Need to Be Successful
9 to 12 years of relevant experience in General Ledger Accounting
Strong accounting knowledge with a good understanding of US GAAP and IFRS
Ability to communicate clearly in English, both written and verbal
Enthusiastic self-starter and quick learner with excellent communication skills
Excellent MS Office Suite skills (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
Strong analytical and interpersonal skills
Strong interpersonal skills for working with stakeholders and colleagues
Bonus Points if You Have
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Master’s degree or higher accounting qualification, which would be a distinct advantage
Good knowledge and experience working with SAP
Prior experience working in the shared services / BPO industry

Willingness to work across EU, US, and APAC time zones and deliver within stringent timelines

Ability to collaborate effectively across functional teams to drive tasks to successful completion
