
Direct Care Provider, Adult Mental Health Program
We’re seeking a compassionate, dependable, and team-oriented Direct Care Provider to join our residential team. You’ll play a hands-on role in creating a safe, respectful, and empowering home-like environment for adults living with mental health challenges.
What you will do:
o Support individuals with daily living activities depending on their level of need
o Foster a supportive living environment that promotes emotional, physical, and social well-being
o Assist with planning and implementing treatment and support plans
o Maintain safety standards
o Provide crisis intervention and emotional support when needed
What we are looking for:
o Associate’s Degree in Human Services or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
o Experience working with adults with mental health challenges desirable, but not necessary. If you have knowledge of, or desire to learn about the needs and abilities of people struggling with mental health, please consider applying.
o Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and a nonjudgmental attitude
o Good communication skills and ability to work with a diverse team
o Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations
Position details:
o Per diem positions with shifts that may include day, overnight and weekend hours, based on your availability.
o Starting at $19/hour, with shift differentials for evening hours (plus $3) and awake overnight (plus $4).
After completing the in-house training of Medication Administration, First Aid and CPR, and Crisis Prevention and Intervention, the pay will increase to $20/hour.
o Valid driver’s license, use of personal vehicle and clear background required.

The Counseling Service of Addison County (CSAC) is a local community mental health center located in Middlebury, Vermont. Since 1959, CSAC has been an integral part of the Addison County community.
The Counseling Service offers a wide range of professional mental health and developmental services designed to meet the needs of those seeking help. We are able to provide a multi-disciplinary approach that draws on the expertise of our staff, which includes persons trained in developmental services, substance abuse treatment, psychiatry, psychology, mental health counseling, social work, family therapy, and child therapy.
