General Responsibilities

  1. Provide supportive services to the Adult Protective Services Staff, including completing intakes and screening phone calls.
  2. Complete APS intakes, obtaining information on allegations of abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
  3. Screen department phone calls and provide phone coverage to address client needs.
  4. Provide follow-up services via phone contacts for clients involved in casework and follow up.
  5. Provide telephonic monitoring for clients actively involved in program.
  6. Communicate frequently and clearly with Casework Supervisor and Caseworkers regarding client needs identified during follow up calls.
  7. Schedule and follow up on reports of substantiation and necessary documentation.
  8. Prepare and maintain accurate confidential case records and documentation.
  9. Supports in the preparation and distribution of meeting materials as directed by Program Leadership.
  10. Assists with the completion of billing tasks, including maintenance of billing logs and spreadsheets.
  11. Submits all investigations, casework, and follow up to Illinois Department on Aging for billing after reviewed and approved by APS Leadership Team.
  12. Executes purchases and payments for goods and services, following the authorization and instructions of program leadership.
  13. Attend staff meetings, in-services, conferences, and workshops as recommended.
  14. Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.

Requirements

  1. A bachelor’s degree in a related field; or an associate degree in a related field with 4 years of health or human services experience; or 4 years of law enforcement or criminal investigation experience.
  2. Minimum of one year of experience working with persons from diverse social backgrounds preferred.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Teams).
  4. Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  5. Strong organizational and time management skills.
  6. Passage of complete background clearance and other required testing.
  7. Support for the Codes of Ethics established by Catholic Charities USA, NASW, and APA.
  8. Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of liability insurance.
  9. Ability to work independently and with attention to detail.
  10. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
