Within the context of a patient/client and family-centred framework and continuum-based care model and in accordance with established standards of professional practice and the vision, values and policies of the organization, this position is responsible for delivering nurse training/education to staff including course content, organization and modifying programs. Supports interdisciplinary staff and leadership across the designated Community of Care (CoC) as the Adult Protection Lead by developing programs, policies, standards including accountability for achieving program outcomes. Provides formal consultation, education, mentorship, complex care planning and clinical guidance based on specialized theory and practice within the context of a patient/client and family-centered care model to ensure practice and organizational compliance with the statutory obligations and regulations of the Adult Guardianship Act (AGA). Identifies staff educational needs, the development and provision of educational content, facilitates course content, evaluates learning outcomes of formal education programs and staffing learning outcomes including accountable for the assessment and effectiveness of staff education programs.Develops decision support tools and policies and recommends changes to practice to improve by analyzing current literature and national trends. Provides consultation, mentorship, education and support to staff about all aspects of abuse by intervening in direct patient/client care provided by other staff, whether it be Adult Guardianship, Adult Protection and/or Domestic Violence as applicable to the designated portfolio and applies knowledge of resources and intervention strategies to assist those impacted by adult abuse, neglect and self-neglect.

About the ReAct Adult Protection Program:
This program receives reports, provides consultation and coordinates responses to abused, neglected and self-neglected vulnerable adults who cannot seek support and assistance on their own. Referrals to this program will be responded to in accordance with the Adult Guardianship Act and Health Care (Consent) and Care Facility (Admission) Act.
