Since 1972, Therapeutic Health Services (THS) has provided evidence-based, culturally appropriate and compassionate behavioral health treatment, programs and services for children, youth, and families with substance use and mental health disorders. We are on the frontlines:

OF RESPONSIBLITIES: Responsible for providing out-patient mental health services including individual therapy, group therapy, and brief intervention to adults and families. Delivers culturally relevant, quality services within the framework of the mental health recovery model. Participates as a member of a multi-disciplinary clinical team with substance use professionals, case managers, peers and medical staff, and does related work as required.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports directly to the Clinical Supervisor.

Responsibilities:

  • Provides ongoing clinical services to participants enrolled in Mental Health programs, including individual therapy, group therapy, ongoing evaluation, and care coordination.
  • Collaboratively develops and implements treatment plans and concurrent treatment plan reviews with enrolled participants.
  • Ensures prompt, accurate clinical documentation including screening, assessment, treatment plans, treatment plan reviews, progress notes, letters, referrals, and discharge summaries for clients served.
  • Demonstrates competencies that reflect current standards of mental health professionals’ knowledge, skills, and attitudes of professional practice.
  • Maintains all participant files in a professional and efficient manner according to procedures outlined in the THS clinical manuals and consistent with applicable legal and accrediting standards.
  • Ensure compliance with agency productivity standards by overseeing client interviews/assessments, processing data accurately and promptly, completing notes in a timely manner, and submitting all required documentation according to agency protocols.
  • Provides advocacy, support services, information and referral, and wrap-around services in an out-patient setting.
  • Attends and participates in supervision with clinical supervisor(s).
  • Consult as needed with other THS providers on ongoing cases, screening, and treatment planning.
  • Assists in resolving participant’s issues, as they relate to multi-disciplinary treatment decisions. Follows through on clinical recommendations regarding participant treatment.
  • Attends training regularly to enhance competencies and clinical skills.
  • Serve as a representative of THS when engaging with community members and external organizations.
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in a social service field is required.
  • Must possess WA State DOH credential that permits mental health counseling and assessment.
  • Have a minimum of one-year experience providing behavioral health services to individuals, groups, and/or families using a variety of therapeutic models.
  • Must be able to travel within the THS service area.
  • Demonstrated experience working with and maintaining positive relationships with a diverse group of participants, co-workers, and community service providers.
  • Experience in engaging and involving families in the treatment process is preferred.
  • Experience conducting multi-dimensional assessments and interventions with participants and their families, as well as other relevant systems impacting participant’s lives (e.g. family, peers, school, neighborhood and other community agencies).
  • Demonstrate cultural humility in clinical work and interactions with THS staff and external individuals and agencies.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving, interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Demonstrated ability to adapt to changing environments and manage multiple priorities effectively
  • Computer proficiency required.

  • Ability to converse with and listen to people in many different settings
  • Ability to use a computer and telephone, as well as other standard office equipment
  • Mobility requirements may involve navigating various work areas, including stairs or ramps.
  • Ability to occasionally push, pull, lift, and/or carry supplies up to 25 pounds
  • Work takes place in a social services environment where long periods of sitting, working on a computer, and standing (with accommodations provided for specific positions).
  • Travel to program sites and meetings outside the site and around the county are necessary
  • Ability to work in an environment where there may be animals present, including dogs
