The School of Nursing seeks a faculty member who is dedicated to educational excellence, thrives in a student-centered teaching program, and has strong interest in preparing a nursing workforce able to meet the many challenges of today's healthcare environment. Faculty members also serve the department through curriculum development, program evaluation, and policy development and evaluation.

Candidates are required to perform duties in accordance with the MSCA contract. Duties include teaching, advising, scholarship and contributions to continuously improve the department and university. The standard teaching load is 12 credit hours per semester. Required QualificationsMaster of Science in Nursing (MSN)Minimum of two years of full-time experience in nursing practice within the last five yearsHold a current unencumbered Massachusetts Registered Nursing licensePreferred QualificationsAn earned doctoral degree in nursing or a related disciplinePrevious teaching experience at the college/university level is strongly preferredEvidence of beginning program of researchExperience in nursing curriculum, instructional technologies, program development and evaluationExperience in and enthusiasm for teaching and mentoring in a multi-racial, multi-ethnic environment with students of diverse backgrounds and learning stylesAs a Hispanic and Minority Serving Institution (HIS/MSI), Salem State University seeks to enrich the faculty/librarian ranks by actively encouraging candidates whose lived experiences align with those of our students and/or whose body of scholarly work addresses issues regarding the welfare and representation of Latino other historically under-served communities in the United States.
