Johnson County Mental Health Center is looking for qualified applicants to fill the position of Mental Health Nurse (RN) in the newly established Adult Crisis Center. In conjunction with our Behavioral Health Nursing team, the Mental Health RN will work to help support this 24-hour facility which provides services for adult clients. In addition, the nurse will assist with admissions at the Youth Crisis Stabilization Center which serves adolescents. This position will also work closely with the clinical team of Clinicians, psychiatrists, service coordinators and direct care staff to meet the individual mental health needs of the clients. Schedule shift for this position will be Saturday & Sunday 7:00 pm – 7:30 am.

Minimum Job Requirements:
High school or equivalent and a Vocational, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or other Nursing program that meets the requirements for the Registered Nurse license are required. Licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the State of Kansas and a valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record is required.
Johnson County Government requires reference/background screening for all positions. Specified criteria may vary by Department/Agency.
Preferred Job Requirements:
Three years of nursing experience in Psychiatric inpatient or outpatient settings is preferred.
Physical, Environmental, and Special Working Conditions:
All County employees may be called upon to assist other departments in a declared emergency situation.
